Help- Best route to yellowstone from SLC
 
Hi,<BR>I'm leaving from SLC next week and will be heading towards Yellowstone's Lake hotel.<BR>AAA trips tik takes me thru via rt 89 towards jackson then into the park via the south enterance.<BR><BR>Another site has me going up to West Yellowstone ID and in via west enterance.<BR><BR>Which is better/faster?<BR><BR>I'll be starting at 12pm. Any recommendations<BR>on best route we be appreciated . I would like to avoid driving a night.<BR><BR><BR>

Go the Jackson route. I cannot recall the name of the canyon (maybe Black Canyon?) that the road goes through but it was one of the highlights of our trip (albeit a long time ago).

AND, you get to see the Tetons. <BR><BR>If you've never seen them (and even if you have many times) they are not to be missed. The word awesome is as close as I can come to describing them. <BR><BR>You won't see mountains like them in Yellowstone; it has other highlights.

I would also recommend seeing the Grand Tetons if you can. They are completely different than Yellowstone. I would go up I15 to Idaho Falls and then over on 26 thru Swan Valley and then up 89. I drove that route (Swan Valley) in June and found it a very scenic route.

Hi T,<BR><BR>There are several ways to go & they only vary a little in drive time. <BR><BR>I'll top some previous discussions for you. Try doing a search for Yellowstone, SLC, etc.
