Thanks, MelissaHI.
I just visited the essence website. No, it's not the same. Oh well... I really DO appreciate your valuable assistance. I'll just have to wait until the next time I'm in Maui. Perhaps my dh will come home with my last bar of soap still in the wrapper!! But I think that's expecting too much.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy the last bar I have in the shower at this time.

Aloha and mahalo.

simpson,
try this website www.remembermaui.com these lotions and cream soaps are handmade on Maui. I bought some lotion while I was there and am ordering more online for all of my female relatives for X-mas. Hope this helps.

Cindyrella,
Thanks for the tip. I think I've probably looked at all the soap sites in the world trying to identify the "right" one... if one exists! I've ordered some soap from kopahaiku but will be trying other "brands" as well. I'll try the one you suggest since you think it is a nice one to give to your friends.
Thanks!
Carol

Ooooh, Kal, did you share the Hawaiian truffles with Mrs. Kal? ;) Or was it a case of "One for you, two for me?"

Shanghainese Dec 2nd, 2003 12:21 PM

My friends like me to bring back T-Shirts from Matsumoto's shaved ice and the Crazy Shirts Factory Store.

MelissaHI Dec 3rd, 2003 07:24 PM

Sorry, Shanghai....I have only seen the potpourri at craft fairs. I am sure you can find it at stores/kiosks in Ala Moana or Ward Warehouse, though. Probably even in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center?

This past February my mom, aunt and I visited Oahu. My mom bought me a beautiful silver necklace with a hibiscus flower and matching earrings. She gave it to me before I left, since I was there a shorter period. I bought myself two Tiki statues from a man that was carving them at the International Market Place. I can hardly wait to go back!

simpsonc510 Dec 6th, 2003 05:58 PM

To Cindyrella,
I just received my bars of "remember maui" soap. It's not the same as the bars I bought at Lahaina. Oh well, they do smell really nice. I am sure I will like them. I'm still awaiting my haiku soap. We'll see how it compares.
Anyway, thanks for the tip.

I'm still going to have to go back to Maui to find the exact soaps I bought in August though.

Hey Carol,
I found this site after looking for this soap I bought on Front Street last April. I think I bought it at Bad Ass Coffee Comp, but saw it at bath shops, too. I am going crazy trying to find it, it has kinda light dyed handmade paper with a gold oval label. It's not glycerine,is this the same one? They have plumeria, mango, hawaiian rain, and other scents. ?Same soap?

PS you can email me directly if you want [email protected]

Hey Carol,

Me again. I just ordered soap from BACC so if it sounds like the one you're looking for, let me know and when I get it I'll tell ya.

My friend brought me and her other friends all a flip flop pendant. Really cute. Here's a link to see what they look like. Ours vary from these but this is the basic look.

Hi Toni,
I think you may have found the right soap!!! Yeehawww!! Tell me more. Is there a web site for BACC? Did you order on line?
Thanks soooooo much.

Pumpy Dec 9th, 2003 07:55 PM

I always send or give lava rocks.

makai1 Dec 9th, 2003 08:19 PM

Aloha Pumpy,

I take it you don't believe in the "bad luck" attached to the taking of lava from the islands ;)

To MelissaHI
I got my package of Kopa Haiku soap just today. It smells wonderful! No, it isn't what I bought in August when in Maui, but I think I will be quite happy with it. I may post again, once I've used it. That may be a little while down the line as I'm still using my last bar from August (the one I can't seem to find...yet) and it will last me a while.
Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on Haiku soap!
Carol
