Grocery stores around Upper East?
 
We will be staying at a B&B on E.62nd and have a kitchen at our disposal. We are looking to prepare brkfst and light snacks and need a good grocery store to shop at. Any suggestions will be appeciated.Thanks

Steve's supermarket is called Food Emporium and is my favorite chain of Manhattan supermarkets, although it can be more expensive especially in that neighborhood. There's another chain called Gristede's with a branch at 62nd St & 2nd Ave.<BR><BR>If you're interested in bakeries there's a fabulous one called Le Pain Quotidien at Lexington Ave between 63rd & 64th and a more regular, but still good, one - Hot & Crusty - at 63rd St. and Second Ave.

The Bridge Street Market is a large (by NYC standards) grocery store located under the 59th Street Bridge (enter from 60th Street across from the Starbucks). It's operated by Food Emporium. Enjoy!<BR>
