grand canyon mule ride

Hi,
I would like to know if the mule trip into the GC (N Rim) is worth the time and the money?
Thank you.

I once met a couple in Las VEgas who had done it the day before. They said it was the WORST day of their entire lives. Other people rave about it. I think it's going to be hard for anyone to tell you whether it is worth the time and money to YOU.

Hi,
I understand what you mean.....
Thanks for the input.
I don't think it would be horrible, but given our limited time, it might not be the best use of it!
Though, I imagine that it would be a good memory for the kids!

Never done it, but I have researched it. Don't know who is in your party, but riders have to be a certain age (no young kids) and under a certain weight (I think 200 lbs.) At the time I was researching it, 2 of our kids were too young and my husband weighed too much!

Also, be aware that weather conditions can cause the closure of the mule trails for months and months at a time. This happened a few years ago. (That left lots of room for the hikers, but it would be disappointed to plan a trip way in advance then have the trails closed when you are there.)

The mule ride from the S rim to Phantom Ranch was the most exciting trip we have ever taken. It is a wonderful memory.

But I can see how some people would not like it, some would think it a waste, and some would hate it. ((R))
