Gerry: <BR>You might get a kick out of this. <BR>Last week Yahoo!News featured a story about legislation pending in Australia which *prohibits petting live sharks*! <BR> <BR>Seems the Aussies are quite comfortable with their knowledge of sharks and local officials were very concerned to find a dead whale near a popular beach. A father and his 5 year old son were spotted 'patting a shark on the nose' as it was repeatedly ripping flesh from the whale. Other beachgoers were joining in the festivities.

Another bit of misleading statistical info: <BR>highest risk of being attacked by a shark in Florida is at midday. On a PER PERSON PER HOUR basis, the risk is low at dusk and dawn. Because far fewer swimmers are in the water then. <BR>But the curve showing when sharks attack is nil at all dark hours and peaks at noon-2 PM.
