Perhaps the OP is not a techie and does not know about google.
And, the OP never ever mentioned holding hands or giving their sweetie a kiss. So, what does that have to do with the price of eggs in China? |
your non answer is an answer. And no I don't have a problem with straight couples holding hands and I don't have a problem with gay couples sharing kisses.
I have a problem with people who want to attack somebody because they may not want to expose their family to a gay environment for any reason. |
The OP asked a question about an "overtly gay situation". All you people had to say was that most gay people will not act any more overtly sexual than the other thousands of hetrosexual people that will be there that day, instead of calling him names and putting words in his mouth.
|
franks and beans - what "lifestyle" don't you approve of, really? I'd venture that many gays have a "lifestyle" that is probably similar to yours - working, supporting themselves and/or a family, maintaining a household, etc.
Or is it really not the lifestyle to which you object but something a little more basic? |
You should be very, very wary, gandb7. Homosexuality is contagious. There will be proselytizers aplenty, just waiting to invade families like yours. There's even the possibility that a member of your family might not recognize the insidious character of Those People.

tom, how about reading a bit first...
I never said I don't approve of a gay lifestyle. I may or may not, that is not the point. I came to the defense of a person who was being attacked because he/she was concerned about exposing their family to a situation that he/she may not feel is appropriate. |
F&B, instead of your usual inflammatory comments, perhaps you could go back and read my posts to this thread.
Please share where I have "attacked" the OP or anyone. From the beginning, I have shared information that will be helpful to the OP if seeing a minority of red Tshirts in the park is offensive in any way. Thank you for answering my question. If I understood you correctly, you would not be offended if you saw a gay couple hold hands or share a quick kiss. The OP asked about "overtly gay situation". My best guess (I have not been to Out in the Park) is that there will be just gay families wearing red Tshirts and enjoying the park. My guess is that the most "overtly" gay situation would be a couple holding hands or sharing a quick kiss. And, based on my original post, the OP can avoid the situation altogether by doing Dollywood on Sunday. Looking forward to your finding my "attack" on the OP. |
Labeling someone a homophobe may not be an attack, but it's not particularly friendly either. Especially when you don't know if it's accurate or not.
|
starrs, maybe not you (and I never called you out specifically except to ask my question)
Dukey: "And I cannot believe how unnecessarily PREJUDICED the OP is being, OK? And no, I don't like it and yes I will continue to be "UNKIND" to those people who are" GoT: "I'm with Dukey on this one." |
The OP knew full well that his/her post was specious. If the post had expressed concern about exposing one's family to miscegenation or born-again Christians or members of the Flat Earth Society, it'd be just as open to sarcastic responses.
|
And I'm with Dukey and GoT on this one. All the way, José.
|
Oh Lucie, how foolish you are...
"I would choose not to expose my family to born again Christians" The OP would have gotten about 350 posts congratulating her on her 'wise' concern. |
Just reading between the lines frank. I apologize if I was wrong but be real - it's not lifestyles that people disapprove of, it's sex between two adults who are the same sex.
|
beachbum, if that was directed to me, I didn't label anyone a homophobe - or anything else.
I just thought the excerpt I posted was amusing. Yes, contradictory too. I think that poster used a layman's definition of what they were saying they weren't. Just my opinion about gmoney's post - not the OP's. Not that anyone cares, but I often give a heads-up on this board to folks traveling to Ptown that they may see things they may not want their family to see. I do it respectfully and candidly - and have never encountered any negative feedback for doing so. I understand the OP's concern and have addressed this OP respectfully and candidly. F&B's timing and comments on this thread are very interesting - and typical. |
starrs, explain the timing comment?
|
Yeah, right on LucieV. Click on the OP's name and see what a crap disturber she is. Wow, she asks questions about travel and the places she wants to go. Imagine that! The nerve of her stirring up trouble by phrasing a question so she could be pounded by "not nice" people.
|
Public Service Announcement -
You will see Tshirts worn by born again Christians and church groups of all types worn in Dollywood on ANY day the park is open! There can easily be 3000 religious Tshirts worn in Dollywood at any given time. |
what does that have to do with anything?
|
F&B, you aren't being very logical here -

Fortunately this thread will be zapped shortly.
