Funny post titles, add yours too!

If anyone is truly bored, how about thinking up a few post titles to get the party started? Here's a couple from me..

Should people with hairy toes wear sandals to Sedona?

Will you gain weight from drinking at 30,000 feet?

If I share my corn nuts with a stranger, will I catch a virus?

Okay, so it's a rainy Alaskan Saturday, but I know there are some good laughs to be had.

GoTravel May 21st, 2005 04:15 PM

Well the Nudist Colony Trip Report is certainly up there for me.

Scarlett May 21st, 2005 06:11 PM

How about...
Where can I find the best babysitter in Borneo?

(that has a story to it actually)

jetset1 May 21st, 2005 06:21 PM

too funny. Makes me think of that awful thing in Australia where the woman said a dingo killed her baby.
Remember Elaine on Seinfeld using an accent and telling someone that a dingo ate the baby?

wow May 21st, 2005 06:26 PM

This one is actual: " HELP! Should we go to California, Nova Scotia or Turks & Caicos????"

This one is made-up: "On airplanes, why does the seat sign say 'Wear seat belt while seated'"??? ( cld you wear your seat belt while standing???) ;;)

LoveItaly May 21st, 2005 06:47 PM

Hi jetset1. Loved "weight restrictions in Europe?" Knew what it meant but it still made me laugh, the thought of the custom agents weighing each passenger before allowing them into Europe.

jetset1 May 21st, 2005 07:20 PM

LoveItaly, that's a riot!
Yes, we only permit women under 97 lbs., a speedo is required for all men poolside, and waxing is highly advisable!

Gene May 21st, 2005 08:56 PM

I always like the titles that ask "What is there to do in NY city?".

emd May 22nd, 2005 02:08 AM

My all time favorite real true post title on this forum is:

"Utah Quickie"

(I can't recall if utahtea answered that one ASAP or not.)

J62 May 22nd, 2005 03:56 AM

Always makes me chuckle when I see it.

"what to do on my honeymoon"

bamakelly May 22nd, 2005 04:12 AM

The one about tipping the wheel chair person still makes me giggle.

cmt May 22nd, 2005 04:33 AM

"Any good hostiles?" http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34426139

"HELP!"

"Travel advice"

Is_____worth it?"

Though I can't find it, I think once there was a thread title something like "Chow, everybody," and it was NOT meant as a joke (was on Europe forum, and was meant to be "ciao.")

Byrd May 22nd, 2005 05:10 AM

These were on the Europe forum:

"Bath on Saturday or midweek?"

"Virgin with baby question"

P_M May 22nd, 2005 07:01 AM

"I'm heaving on a jet plane." This was about a woman with air sickness.

"Don't want to get arrested at the airport." This classic has now been deleted, but it was written by someone with outstanding warrants. He was asking if they look for arrest warrants when you check in for an international flight. It was a hoot, I wish they could bring it back.

Patrick May 22nd, 2005 07:34 AM

I think jetset was looking for posters to make up funny or outrageous post titles. But as other posters have proven, we can't top some of the real ones that have appeared here.

Tess_Durberville May 24th, 2005 02:13 PM

One of the classic threads on this forum was "I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison". However, I'm unable to pull it up; maybe it was jettisoned into cyberspace by Fodor's editors.

Another amusing title is "BRAS--Do European women wear them?" which can be found at http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...&tid=70465

As a "dinky di" Aussie, I too love that Seinfeld episode - "Maybe a dingo ate your baby" !!!

I think Bart Simpson made that comment too - it was hilarious.

Gilbert (now transplanted to Eagle River, Alaska)

P_M May 24th, 2005 05:03 PM

Tess Durberville, I just looked at the BRAS thread and it's a hoot!! Or should I say, a hooter.

matnikstym May 24th, 2005 06:40 PM

will the guides on our kilimanjaro climb be able to push grampa up the hill in his wheelchair? or should we just leave him in the car?

elizabeth_reed May 25th, 2005 03:59 AM

I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison is a classic of the European thread, as is "how much should I tip the pilot?"

[A little history about the drunk momma. The late Steve Goodman (1948-1984) wrote what he thought was the perfect country song: "You Never Even Call Me By My Name." David Alan Coe told him it was great, but he'd left out a few things like trains, momma, getting drunk, pickup trucks, prison, good dogs like old Shep, etc. So Steve added another verse that starts: "I was drunk the day that momma got out of prison...."]

radiofanatic May 25th, 2005 04:17 AM

Not on this website, but on another, the thread was "Honeymoon with Virgin" - he meant Virgin airlines, but boy, that one got me thinking! :)

radiofanatic May 25th, 2005 07:28 AM

ttt

jorr May 25th, 2005 09:23 AM

I thought "Looking for a motel with a Texas shaped swimming pool" was pretty funny. Some posters knew of Colorado shaped swimming pools. i.e. square.

Al_LaCarte May 25th, 2005 09:38 AM

Loved the alliteration of the "Frantically Fretting over Fetid Foie Gras from France" thread from the Europe board.

Ryan May 25th, 2005 09:44 AM

How about:

"How much is the $6.99 Breakfast Buffet at the Las Vegas Hilton?"

"Is it inappropriate to take my children to Intercourse, Pennsylvannia?"

"Where is the water warm enough in June so that I can wear my Speedo in confidence?"

In terms of real posts, back in the Wild West days before registration, I started a troll post titled "Ranch Cattle Herding/Slaughtering Vacation."

Suzie May 25th, 2005 09:45 AM

Seriously, the posts titled

"What should we do on our Honeymoon?"

always make me laugh. I supress the urge to respond with a witty yet surely unwanted response.

elizabeth_reed May 25th, 2005 10:06 AM

re: what should we do on our honeymoon. My former boss would laugh his a-- off about the people who would order wedding invitations from us that began, "We have experienced love...." (Presuming those aren't the people wondering what to do.)

placeu2 May 25th, 2005 10:43 AM

I always get a kick out of:

I have booked a vacation to....Vegas, NY, Chicago, LA (whatever)...

What should I do?
How is my hotel (that I have a non cancelable reservation at)?
How about the kids? etc., etc.

rather self explanatory IMHO

FainaAgain Nov 22nd, 2005 03:54 PM

Somebody on European board couldn't figure out the train schedule going to Rome, Italy. So the post was

"Can some body examine my Trenitalia?"

Also the all-time classic

"Go to Europe for the first time, how much do you tip the pilot"

anonymouse Nov 22nd, 2005 06:51 PM

I love this one: How do I make reservations for "The Lord's Supper?"

emd Nov 22nd, 2005 07:22 PM

I liked this one, which appeared last year on the U.S. board:

Utah Quickie

TravelTess Nov 22nd, 2005 08:03 PM

Has Syrahgirl worn Google out?

Curt Nov 23rd, 2005 05:26 AM

there was also one some time ago that wanted to know if Hampton Court in UK was part of the Hampton Inn chain and if it was inexpensive as well....

AnnaR Nov 23rd, 2005 06:50 AM

How bout this one...
It's been 4 years since we've done it, help us get our groove back in Kauai

4 years is a looooong time....they really need this trip.

kamahinaohoku Nov 23rd, 2005 07:02 AM

Based on a statement a female client once said to me regarding a (fortunately never taken) future trip:

Safari? I don't want to take photos, I want to shoot the danged things!
((S))((*))

kamahinaohoku Mar 16th, 2006 09:31 AM

ttt - because I needed a good laugh today!
