Instead of adding water or milk to make the batter, use beer as the liquid.

flour, egg wash, then batter, then deep fry.

Now, Faina, Kal is not here to defend himself, but if I am reading your post correctly, you would prefer to experience P/Kal hot & greasy, rather than 'in the raw?'

;)

To coat anything sweet like twinkies, candy bars and the like, pancake batter works great!

JAGIRL Jun 11th, 2006 02:30 PM

Fried twinkies & snickers I've seen
Fried corn on the cob...that's one I've never seen before. Is that done in a batter too?
:-)

Now THERE'S a TRAVELING recipe of the 4 footed kind!

Melissa, not hot, not greasy, just aged in vinegar. Where is he? I thought his trips are due in September.

GoT, reading of all those recipes, I'm thinking more of a mortician not of a doctor!

I love fried pickles, but it has to be the chips, not the spears!

Thanks, Go! I pan fired the sole! It was amazing! And, your cocktail sauce w/ shrimp was a big hit too! Now I just need to get a couple of those La Coste dresses. Looks great bit I don't know about the "drop waist". That sounds a little weird to me.

Pan fried!

finally had fried pickles this past weekend! Iremembered it being mentioned in a couple of threads before so I had to order them. We were at a litte town called Winchester having steaks after mountain biking at Smithville's Rocky Hill Ranch. Very yummy although I still prefer fried mushrooms better.

I did find the pickle chips in Washington, DC when I went there last month. I bought a bag and took it to Monica Pileggi's GTG, proudly displaying it with a big smile, except no one at the GTG had been on the board for a while so the joke was lost on them.

LOL Melissa! That is so funny!

So you just showed up with a big bag of Lays Dill Pickle Potato Chips and they all thought you were nuts?

I'm mourning those chips! I'm training again and cannot eat them!

MelissaHI Jul 17th, 2006 04:47 PM

I did. I pulled them out and was like, "Look! I got the pickle chips!" "Whut?" "You know, THE PICKLE CHIPS." "Ummmmm......ooookaaaaaayyyyy....."

iceeu2 Jul 17th, 2006 04:53 PM

Melissa...maybe they thought you had seen a ghost at your hotel!!!

I believe also, but have never experienced!

Budman Jul 17th, 2006 04:53 PM

MelissaHI, you must have pulled those chips out before I got there. You know I would have tried them. :-) ((b))

MelissaHI Jul 17th, 2006 05:17 PM

I did. I was so embarrassed that I put them away.
