Scarlett Jun 12th, 2006 09:28 AM

You are so good to me, thank you, weep weep :)

P_M Jun 12th, 2006 09:35 AM

I can't think of a day when it is NOT the right day to celebrate chocolate--but it's nice to know the days where I can eat chocolate guilt-free!! (well, more-so that usual) :-D Thanks for the scoop on chocolate.

Editors--we need a chocolate icon in the Fodors smileys!!

JAGIRL Jun 12th, 2006 09:37 AM

I am at this very moment having the most delicious eggplant roti ever imaginable. I will have terrible heartburn when I'm done...but...it's uselessly worth it! :))

DixieChick Jun 12th, 2006 10:51 AM

There are 10 kinds of people in the world - Those who understand binary and those who don't.

starrsville Jun 12th, 2006 10:51 AM

Funny, DC! :-)

FainaAgain Jun 12th, 2006 11:41 AM

I apologize in advance as this may turn to be useful...

P_M, this is complex, but this may do... while we don't have a chocolate icon

=P~ ((^)) =D> :o)

P_M Jun 12th, 2006 04:12 PM

Hmmm, Faina, this is complex indeed and you've got my brain working to solve this puzzle. :-?

BTW, getting my brain to work is no easy chore. People who live or work with me are already well aware of that, but around here, it's just another useless fact. :-))

razzledazzle Jun 12th, 2006 04:35 PM

Of 4 fodorites, 1 is not sane-well, that
let's Scarlett. LoveItaly and myself off the hook, leaving...

:-D

seetheworld Jun 12th, 2006 04:43 PM

My nickname is "Schnookie".

It is also the screen name of a poster. But I've been called Schnookie for many, many years. :)

P_M Jun 12th, 2006 05:06 PM

It is not advisable to put prosthetic body parts into your checked luggage.

LoveItaly Jun 12th, 2006 05:59 PM

LOL Razzle!!! :-X

Hey P_M, that was USEFUL information you just posted!!

Scarlett Jun 12th, 2006 06:04 PM

razzle, are you sure ? 8}

Miscellaneous information..probably also useless:
If there is a crazy person on the streetcar, and I get on, eventually, he will gravitate to me.
I have many crazy friends now ((F))

indytravel Jun 12th, 2006 06:18 PM

You too Scarlett? All my friends make fun of how the crazy people gravitate to me. Especially since my friends know I'm a bit of a germ freak and hate it when they try to shake my hand or touch my arm.

Now for something really useless. :-)

Left-handed people are more prone to suicide then right-handers.

JAGIRL Jun 12th, 2006 08:04 PM

P_M & Faina:

~o) Icon for hot chocolate perhaps?
3:-o Chocolate milk ?

:p Just ate chocolate icon ?

:L Smiley for : "Can't eat chocolate because of 10 pounds gained from recent chocolate binge"

X-( : Smiley for "Don't mess with me...I haven't had any chocolate today!"

How do we get more e-cons on Fodors?!!

JAGIRL Jun 12th, 2006 08:10 PM

:-* Hersheys Kisses smiley? :)

P_M Jun 13th, 2006 03:54 AM

I beg to differ, dear LoveItaly. My info was useful only to those with prosthetic body parts. :-) If everything you've got is the original, then this is useless info. :-p

These are some good ideas for chocolate icons. :-)

GoTravel Jun 13th, 2006 05:43 AM

Ouch GeorgeW! Hope you got good drugs!

Mr.GoTravel did the same thing with a fan belt on the roof of his restaurant with his left index finger. He couldn't figure out what he used the tip of his left index finger for until the day he pulled up the the ATM Machine and his car was 1/4 inch too far away.

Intrepid1 Jun 13th, 2006 05:47 AM

What's with the new ATM "enhancement" thing that a voice says "You've got to be kidding" when you try to make a cash withdrawal?

GeorgeW Jun 13th, 2006 06:02 AM

GoTravel, my injured digit was the lowly pinky and only the top of it was amputated. The doctor said I could play basketball in a month if I want. As for pain, I've had little and have considered offering my stash of prescribed oxycotin to Rush Limbaugh!

FainaAgain Jun 13th, 2006 10:06 AM

LOL Jagirl, sweet memories, going to Switzerland I posted my questions as "Switzerland, the land of chocolate milk cows".

FainaAgain Jun 20th, 2006 11:52 AM

3 out of 4 Americans make 75% of the population

(just topping for RB)

rb_travelerxATyahoo Jun 20th, 2006 12:24 PM

If you can learn just ONE useless bit of information each day of the year, then ...

After a year you'll know 365 useless bits of information!

(for the o.p.: Nothing wrong with some levity, but long winded discussion about appliance repair, dead dogs, new kittens, and recipes have more appropriate forums. Humor is a world-wide common ice-breaker. So you did NOT "get my goat" with this)

FainaAgain Jun 20th, 2006 12:30 PM

Oh, if you have a goat, let's open a goat-cheese-making business ;)

sunbum1944 Jun 20th, 2006 12:34 PM

To wow!
I also recite Abou Ben Adam frequently and a lot of other poems too -
Never met anyone else who even heard of that poem- except my mother

P_M Jun 20th, 2006 04:21 PM

Faina, I love goat cheese, it's very good for a yodeler's throat!! Now that's very useless information, unless you are a semi-retired, semi-professional world-class yodeler like myself. :-"

JAGIRL Jun 20th, 2006 06:05 PM

Oh Oh...is this totally useless information too? :-" Well...maybe we bend the rules a bit on Fridays :))

Useless info for folks not planning a trip to Bermuda:

Bikinis are banned more than 7.5m (25 ft.) from the water in Bermuda.

maria_so Jul 17th, 2006 03:39 PM

I finally had fried pickles this past weekend at a little town in Texas called Winchester (near Smithville). I remembered this thread when fodorites mentioned it here so I had to order some. It's good! ...however I still like fried mushrooms better.

deladeb Jul 17th, 2006 07:52 PM

For a healthy alternative to butter, margarine or crisco when baking cookies....substitute mashed northern beans (rinse the beans after opening the can) for 1/2 the fat. the beans will give you calcium, fiber (but won't make you gassy). Try it!!!

JAGIRL Jul 26th, 2006 07:00 AM

The Alphabet song and Twinkle Twinkle little star have the same tune...don't they? ;)
