Great story meesthere! I'm sure your friend felt good that you took the time to contact them! It happened to me a few years ago, an old boyfriend from college (we dated for a short time in 1989) looked me up out of the blue and e-mailed! What a great surprise, and since he was (and is)a real hottie I was really flattered! He lives in Rome, and we have reconnected as great friends over the past few years! I'm so glad he took the trouble to find me! That's a Rave too! :) Trish

Rave: ((8)) change in the weather... ((8)) it's been lovely the past week--amazing the effect five to ten degrees can have on the 'ol body. It is so nice outside today that my girlfriend and I were able to dine alfresco :-)

Rave: One of my best friends sons will have his Eagle Scout ceremony tomorrow afternoon--congratulations, Calvin! =D>

Rant: When bad things happen to good people in this world.

Rave: I love this message board! I've yet to post a question because someone else seems to do it for me! Thanks to all the knowledgeable Fodortites who continue to contribute invaluable information :)>-

That's so great, you guys - other stories about finding lost friends! I guess the lesson we should learn is not to let them get lost in the first place, if we can help it.
See you all later - I have to go work out at the gym. (I think that's a rant.) :)

Ok, I have another rant. Projected path shows that "Ivan" is probably headed my way. Guess I'd better plan on trimming down all the trees on Monday. :(

Stay safe with Frances Floridian Fodorites!

Scarlett Sep 3rd, 2004 02:10 PM

Statia, me too:)
Add to Ivan, Typhoon Songda, who is headed towards Japan and my baby boy!

I guess this will be a family affair, hiding from big storms :(

Oh gosh, Scarlett.....maybe we should form a Hurricane Support Group. :) It would go nicely with that Fodors Addiction Support Group.

You could call it the Hurricane Group for Support (HuGS).

Meesthare,
You inspired me to look up a freind who I became very close with when I studied abroad in Scotland.
I think of various people now and again, but I have never taken the initiative to find them. I think I will give it a try.
How fun!!
:-)

Rave: all the brave people on this forum who face such bad weather with smiles and good cheer!

Good luck to you all!

Just have to say:

RAVE: Lost that 16th pound as of today, despite the bum knee, and changing exercise routines....... (and eating a little too much stressing about it all.)

RANT: This miserable Hurricane Frances devastating Florida. Bless you all who are having to deal with it!!! (We survived Fran, and that was one too many!)

Have a great Labor Day, all! It's going to rain in Raleigh, but I'm going to see "Harry Potter III" at the Imax theater (AGAIN), and will enjoy that, and good food and cards afterward! To those facing Frances, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
