Just back last night from a quick visit at our friend's vacation home and am now able to read FRR&R.

Patrick ~ If you see this, I just want you to know how very sorry I am for your loss. My Dad passed away three years ago and at first you are almost 'relieved' when your loved one is not suffering any longer with an illness. But later, a side of you begins to miss them so dearly. Please know we are here for you. If you are sad tomorrow, or in two weeks or in two years, we are here. Sometimes you never know when it will hit, and it has brought me comfort to know that there are those that understand.
My deepest sympathy to you, Lee, and your family.

Scarlett ~ I am sorry about your aunt. I applaud your take on grudges, etc, well said, I couldn't agree with your more.

Mikemo ~ Thinking of your DIL, may she have a successful treatment.

Patrick, I'm sorry your mother is gone, and I'm glad you were able to be with her and look after her.

Scarlett, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. You are right about not holding on to grudges; Mr. Pickle had sort of a rough relationship with my mom, but took the time to apologize for his part in the problems and ask her forgiveness. It totally changed their relationship, and we were so glad we had several good years with her before she died in 1997.
