RAVE, RAVE, RAVE: Our family is growing! Our due date is Jan 1, 2006!

Mini-rant: A due date of Jan 1...yikes! Holidays are busy enough as it is!

RAVE: All the great news on this board today!

Happy Friday everyone!

sfamylou May 20th, 2005 06:16 AM

Congrats, Bamakelly! Maybe you'll have the first baby of the new year and get in the papers!

Rave: I'm going to Vegas this weekend with my husband (and no kids) for his birthday!

Rant: I'm not organized about this trip at all. Better get busy. Have to pack, get kids situated, you know the drill....

seetheworld May 20th, 2005 06:17 AM

Rave: HAPPY NEW YEAR, bamakelly!!!

seetheworld May 20th, 2005 06:25 AM

Oh, I forgot this big RAVE!

We had clear skies on our flight from California to NY and therefore outstanding views of the terrain over Arizona, Utah, Colorado. We could see the "red rock" and deserts as well as snow capped moutains! What an experience :)

gomiki May 20th, 2005 06:27 AM

Happy Friday to all.

Rant: No spring here.

Rave: Because it's cool, the blooms on the ornamental cherry trees are lasting longer. The large old ones droop to the ground and remind me of fireworks. The younger ones bring to mind a red haired woman with her hair blowing up in the breeze.

Rave: Congrats, bamakelly!

Byrd May 20th, 2005 06:29 AM

Rave: Bamakelly's great news! And everybody's raves!

Rave: our little town looks so pretty. The new leaves have hidden much of the ugliness left by that unwelcome visitor Ivan last September!

Big rave:
Ten of us (five couples) have finally agreed, and have booked our October trip to Paris and Prague.

This will be our fifth European jaunt together, and yes, we're all still friends!

Byrd

Rave: Ebay
Rant: CBS cancelling Joan of Arcadia (even though it means dh can't make fun of me anymore for watching it!)
Rave: Summer travel, festivals and fun on the horizon
Rant: Two year old dd's backslide in potty training - ahhhh!!!

Have a great weekend!!

Fodorite018 May 20th, 2005 06:33 AM

Rave--Heading to the cabin for a long weekend in a little while. No phones, no tv, no motors on the boat...total peace! After hiking I can sit back by the fire and keep planning my Scotland trip.

Rave--Bonniebroads fitness, Jersey and Seetheworlds children, Bennnie's new nephew, and Bamakelly's one on the way! Such terrific news for all of you!

Rave--No rants:)

aschie30 May 20th, 2005 06:38 AM

Rave: Leaving for London in 6 days!!

Rant: Boarding my dear cocker in 6 days (sniff).

mikemo May 20th, 2005 06:56 AM

Rave: Mild May weather continues, but we really need the rainy season to begin here in SMdA.

Rave: Should be in the new house in a month.

Rant: Lots of activity at the smaller house, but no offers - the RE folks priced it too high, but I expected some low ball bids.

Feliz fin de semana.

M

Bonnie, you go girl!

Bennnie, so sorry to hear about your MIL. It's so hard to watch loved ones slip away. I hope she's peaceful.

Bamakelly, congrats on the future arrival!

Rave: It's Friday and I don't have too much I have to tackle this weekend.

Rave: Finally got my new "inherited" pot racks hung over my kitchen island. Now I'll have more cabinet space, as well as the memories of the same racks hanging in my mother's kitchen when I was a kid.

Rave: My Digger Dog is doing superb after his surgery last week. He's back to his rambunctious self.

Rave: European trip research is so fun and exciting. Heck, any type of trip research is fun.

Have a great weekend everyone!

kureiff May 20th, 2005 07:19 AM

Rave: Next Friday I'll be snorkeling, boogie boarding, and mai-tai drinking in Hawaii.

Rave: My sister graduates from high school this weekend with a full tuition waiver at the college of her choice. My grandparents will be over for the weekend, too. Yay, for my smart sister!

Rave: My other sister is loaning me several pairs of shorts, cute tops, etc. for Hawaii. Yay, for my sister who shops too much but is generous!

Rant: Daughter has bruises and bumps from her many misadventures this week that included diving off the bed and jumping off a chair.

Rave: Daughter is an adventurous and curious little dare-devil.

Happy Friday and congratulations to all of your graduates!

bamakelly May 20th, 2005 07:22 AM

Wow, thanks everyone! I am humbled by all these well wishes! Fodorville Friends are so great!

Byrd--How neat about our group of travel friends. How did you all originally meet / know each other?

bamakelly May 20th, 2005 07:23 AM

Byrd--that is YOUR friends, not OURS! Sorry--wishful thinking! (or maybe just a typo)...

Ani May 20th, 2005 07:24 AM

Wow-so many great raves today!!
Rave: DD said her first word yesterday (well, besides the mama's and dada's)...CHEESE! Definately not a surprise considering how much she loves the stuff.

RAVE: My best high school friends are in town -we're having a girls night tonight-woohoo!

Gorgeous and sunny in beautiful Colorado...no rants today!

Byrd May 20th, 2005 07:47 AM

Bama,

We've almost all been friends for years, and all live here in Demopolis.

One of the couples, our best friends, I've known since childhood (my husband grew up in Dothan, but we've been back in Demopolis for many years).

We've traveled with them for a long time, beginning when our children were little, taking them to Colorado skiing every winter.

The "TG" (travel group)is really a lively, funny fun-loving bunch, whose ages span about 20 years. We get together at our homes almost every weekend, and a lot of week nights, especially during trip-planning time.

And they say small town life is dull! I know the New Yorkers are jealous! LOL

Rant: Really want the rain to stop long enough for the house to get painted.

Rave: Found out that my favorite TV show 'Arrested Development' is going to have a third season after all! Yipppeee.

Statia May 20th, 2005 08:17 AM

Bennnie, I nearly lost my mom a year ago February, but she surived and is doing very well now. However, I can relate to what you are going thru because it was very hard to watch her fade more every day and never know if it was going to be the last.

My thoughts are with you and your family.
