Rave: Hubby coming home from fly-in fishing trip in Canada today! He's been incommunicado since Sunday! It's weird not to be able to tell him about my day!! Rave: Go Smarty Go!!! Rave: I have a new brother! Parents just picked up a 7 wk old Beagle puppy named Riley. He is SO cute! I can't wait for puppy kisses & to smell that puppy smell! Rave: Never thought my folks would get a dog again after they lost their Fox Terrier last year! Rave: I don't have a single rant! |
Hey I do have a rant after all... I just missed a phone call from my brother who is on a 100ft yacht somewhere off the coast of Greece where he just finished dinner prepared by the yacht's chef. I'm ranting because I would have loved to talk to him, not because I'm jealous. And of course I am a wee bit jealous.

Rant: Root canal surgery yesterday was NOT fun!!
Rave: At least it's over and I'm doing the ZOOM thing next week! Rant: Got a horrible sunburn kayaking for two days last weekend Rave: It's starting to turn into a nice color now, tho! Rant: I have yet to see a play in Ashland and we will be there again soon! Rave: We have dinner reservations at Cucina Biazzi which I'm anxious to try and we get to stay at the Plaza Inns & Suites in the King spa room which is wonderful!! Rant: Won't have much time in Portland this time when we drive through on our way to the coast. Rave: We're trying Paley's Place for dinner and we'll hit Pioneer Place on our way through this time. Rant: This is a working vacation this trip. Rave: Hopefully we'll be finished by 3:00 each day to explore the coast and eat some wonderful meals out. I'm hoping to try at least a dozen new places this trip. MMS: Enjoy Shrek 2, it's great fun!!! ***kim*** |

Smarty Jones- a half blind, race horse who might win the Triple Crown on Sunday :D

Faina-Smarty Jones won the Kentucky Derby and galloped away with the Preakness. First undefeated race horse going into the Belmont since Seattle Slew. It's also a story made for the movies. He was hurt severely when he reared up in the starting gate and they thought he wouldn't race again. His owner is 80 years old, in a wheelchair with oxygen. The jockey had personal problems ie booze and fights and turned his life around. Smarty races at Philadelphia Park and was named after the owner's mother in law. They are comparing him to the great Seabiscuit...
