Ah CAPH, I don't know why but everyone runs their tongue over a jagged tooth. Maybe you could put a bandaid over it ;;), just teasing you of course as I know it is not funny! I am relieved that your husband is alright this weekend, sounds like he will have to get a crown or whatever they call it. Thanks for writing back!!
|
LoveItaly: I think it's CAPH who will get the crown and her DH ? maybe a bridge? I'm hoping my DH doesn't lose his tooth....the dentist is trying to save it as he has good teeth otherwise. |
Hi Belle, yes you are correct, CAPH gets the crown and her dear husband gets the bridge. And what happened to your husband? I guess I missed that. Oh gads, dental problems make me cringe. I sure hope they can save his tooth Belle, I know you and he do also. I think if we all stick to liquids (cocktails, wine, beer or coffe maybe that would be a good thing? Best wishes to your household also dear Belle.

Actually, ladies, since the tooth my husband lost was a wisdom tooth (can you believe that, at 53, up until yesterday he still had all 4 of them?), he's done. No crown, bridge, etc.
I'm trying not to think about what I'm in for, LOL! Could be another root canal (I had a double one a couple of months ago), could just be a crown. You're right, LoveItaly, that no one can resist running their tongue over a broken tooth. (My dentist talks about it almost as though it's something over which you have no control!) But, in this case, because it's a molar, the back of my tongue also hits it every time I talk, eat, etc. Oh, the joys of growing older! As I told someone the other day, neither of my parents had their teeth by the time they were my age. And sometimes I think they were better off! That is until I remember that my father's dentures were usually in his pocket! :D |
LOL CAPH!!! Darlin' I am so glad to hear that your husband's problem was his wisdom tooth. Crikes, who has wisdom teeth past the age of 25? So now that hubby is alright lets get you fixed up. And dear Belle's husband hopefully will not lose his tooth.
The next installment will be on next weeks FFR&R's?? I have had a stupid problem too, but I will post after it is over..to confusing to explain at this point. What is with us Fodorites, is there a dentist on board? |
"Crikes, who has wisdom teeth past the age of 25?"
Someone with a big mouth! :D |
LOL CAPH! And hopefully your DH never comes onto Fodor's or some of us would be in big trouble!!!
|
Don't worry, LoveItaly. He gets his fill of it from listening to me! And I am selective about what I tell him! :D

Rant: a bat was flying around inside my house last night. Lightning speed and no swhoosing sound like a bird. It flew from room to room passing by my head several times. Caught him with a fishing net and put him outside. The dog thought it was so much fun. I did not. I chased that thing all over two floors and the basement. :[
|
Oh creepy jorr! We had a bat in our bedroom one night years ago. My husband woke up and heard a strange noise. The bat was trapped between the draperies and the window. He was not as brave as you..he called the FD and they came and caught him. And wimpy me, I ran from our bedroom to our daughter's, slamming the door shut behind me, dove into her bed and pulled the blankets over my head!!

Greetings all my football Sunday FFR&R'ers ~
Tess ~ Oh my, after you and your DH walk on the beach, you MUST walk yourselves over to The Border Grill in Santa Monica, ha. It is on 1400 block of 4th Street and it is SO delicious your will weep when you have to leave. We ate there twice (lol). Do you know the two hot tamales ladies, they own it. Anyway, try to make it there if you can! Have fun. You know about the Shops on the 3rd Street Promenade, right? AnnMarie ~ aren't you just the sweetheart, yourself! How fun to see your message. And thank you to my cmcfong and Scarlett, too! I am very touched. BuffaloGirl ~ I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, and now your Dad's illness. I know that far too often when one parent is lost, it so strongly affects the other. I feel for you, hang in there. I am glad you have such a strong support from family and friends, and remember we are here too! seasweetie ~ I hope the time during your wait goes by fast and that good news awaits you! Otto ~ Congrats on your new job! mms ~ Happy ((L)) month! gomiki ~ have fun on your sis weekend, what fun! Oh dear LoveItaly ~ When I read about your friend moving and her nonna teaching you to cook and the memories of dinners at that big table, my eyes welled up! I know you will miss her. Maybe you can bring a welcome basket to the new owners of her house and tell them all the good stories. If I was a new owner, I would welcome that so much. So many of us seek the history in things, maybe they will too! P_M ~ I have so thought of you and your DH. I am thrilled that his severance will be good, and that they have recruiters coming in. Best of luck to you sweetie! So happy Aloha is soon on it's way. jorr ~ your :[ story sent chills down my spine! My DH had a bat in his house long before we were married. Sadly it was a tennis racket, and not a fishing net, that he "caught" him with, so I am sorry that his story has a sad ending, happy yours was set free safely to eat many mosquitoes next summer here in our state! Rave ~ DH and I just returned from a very lovely four days up at the North Shore of Lake Superior. Was terrific. I'll post a mini-update on my established Shore thread. (cmcfong, DH and I toasted to you at The Angry Trout last night!!!!!) Rave ~ That each night I have the privilege of falling asleep next to such a good man. Rave ~ A man that DH and I saw speak in a documentry on the Discovery channel. He spoke with other survivors from 9/11. He was badly burned after the plane struck the Pentagon. His words have stayed with me so very much, he said: "My scars are a daily reminder of all my blessings." What a true inspiration! Remembering lost lives tomorrow and all those still affected by this tragic day. We will never forget **== |
LoveItaly, how funny. My mom did something similar when I was a teenager. She grabbed the table cloth and dove under the kitchen table in terror. Dad was already in bed and heard the shouting.
Tiff, a tennis pro you have there. |
Tiff, your post about the 9/11 brought tears to my eyes. What a powerful person he must be.
Thank you for toasting me during your dinner at Angry Trout. I am waiting patiently for your trip report. Welcome home! |
RANT: Thought we only had to put up with hurricanes in Louisiana . . . now we're getting earthquakes in the Gulf. Bet the levees can't take handle tsunamis either.;-)
|
jorr, I am sure I know how horrified your Mom was, lol. And Tiff, eek, what a mess that must have been!!
|
Jorr,
Nothing gives me the willies more than that! I can handle snakes, rodents, bugs......but thihgs flying in my house creeps me out the most. I had chimney swallows fly around my living room and I almost lost it, hyperventilating, etc... the cats thought it was the best show on earth!! |
Rant: Not only did we lose the football game last night (Texas vs. Ohio State) :`( but upon returning home, there was a scorpion in the middle of my kitchen floor!
Here in Austin, during the summer months, we've got over a million Mexican Free-tailed bats flying around. I've never heard of one going into a house. Yuck! I'd be right there with you, under the covers, screaming my head off. :(( Maybe I should start putting a tennis racket under my bed, lol! :[ :[ :[ Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it! |
jorr: thanks for a memory. I remember my mom calmy wrapping up a bat or two in the white sheer curtains and taking them outside to freedom. I miss you mom.
|
LoveItaly, what a sad rant. To lose such a special friend to distance is so hard. Take Tiff's advice. Visit the new occupants and tell them a bit about the very special history. Maybe you will make a new friend. Hey, make them one of Nonnie's specialties!
|
Rant:
hotel doorbangers, the ones who slam the door shut instead of easing it closed. hotel noisemakers, the ones who have to talk loudly while walking through the halls. |
