And don't worry about me when you don't see "how was your weekend" on Monday - due to Yom Kippur.
|
Happy Yom Kippur, FainaAgain.
|
I was remiss...Happy Yom Kippur to FarinaAgain and all Fodorites who will be observing the Holiday.
|
FainaAgain, and all--
Gmar chatima tova. It is a holy day, but not a happy one. |
Nora, thank you. That "happy" just slipped in there. It is a holy day.
|
I think it was "my bad". Sorry.
|
Starrsville,
I meant it very gently---the tone doesn't come through in type. No "bad" here. The easiest to say is "Good Yontif". That is also appropriate. |
STW, I'm so sorry about your job, and glad that you look out for yourself! Many hugs to you ... ((f))
|
((Y)) The My Free Hug to You thread.
((y))Our awesome vacation to Yellowstone, Cody, and the Tetons. [Trip report in progress.] ((y))Tomorrow is Election Day and my mother (age 77) is up for re-election. ((n))My friends on Fodor's and at home that are having health, job, and/or personal problems. God bless you all! |
Nora,
My apology was sincere Lots of complaints tonight about snippiness - and I know I use a smart aleck voice a lot. But, I would never - and will never - do it (intentionally) where religion comes to play. My best friend from high school, Mitchell, would be VERY disappointed in me. Best regards, Starrsville On another note - congratulations to Fodorites who are about to experience wonderful, wonderful things. We love you. |
Rave: Iowa. God, please bless Iowa.
Rave: Friends who offer kindness, here, in "Forumlandia", and in my real life. They make us feel better about the "poopy heads" in our lives. |
Oh dear, Starrsville--I think we got sideways on this one. I know you were sincere; and I was afraid I was the one who sounded snippy. I didn't want you to feel bad about it! I just wanted to let all sincere people know that "happy" is not the right blessing on this occasion. I am not observant----or I wouldn't be on the computer now---but I thought you (and all sincere Fodorites) might like to know what to say.
Still friends? OK? |
Definitely! :-)
|
Nora: I really not nothing about the day - but am willing to learn if you care to elaborate. ((F))
|
That should be 'know'.
|
Rave--It is Friday, and DH's bday. Made his favorite apple cake (ala Cooking Light, so no guilt!) and celebrated with a great bbq.
Rave--At the store today, I got carded!!! I thought the guy was kidding, but he said he was serious. I told him he made my day:) Ethel--I will be thinking of you tomorrow! Marigross--Congrats! Sounds like a fun thing to do! STW--So sorry it did not work out, but you did the right thing. Unfortunately, a new job is sort of a crap shoot, you don't know for sure til you actually start. Kureiff--Happy Birthday! |
Happily ever after, Ethel!
|
Rave: Good and great things that are happening to Fodorites.
Rave: BG's politician - way to go! :-) Rave: cmcfong's Rx - I will NEVER argue with that one :-) Rave: Thought more bad news was coming at work. No - or, not yet. Rave: Unexpected upgrades - that served as an HGTV "real-life" fix. Big Rave! Off to the beach - and my favorite raw bar. SunshineSue, if you read this, I didn't contact because my plans changed continuously in the past 48 hours. Rain check, perhaps? Have a great and safe weekend all! (And, on Monday, ethel will be "Sadie, Sadie, Married lady"! :-) |
Rave: Did I understand there a 2 bundles of joy in Iowa?
Rant: Ragweed makes my head ache. |
rave: I took my intro to scuba lesson yesterday!
rant: Trouble equalizing the pressure in my ears - instructor recommends I see a Dr. to get this checked out. ethel: Here Comes The Bride.....((f))((F))((F)) da da ta da....:)). |
