No rants or raves for me this week.
Just wanted to pop in to say hello and wish all of you well who are dealng with illnesses, loss of life, and other difficult things. Big virtual hugs. And, congrats to those who have raves to share! Have a good weekend everyone. :) |
Rave: Leaving tomorrow for a few days in northern California and then 3 weeks in Alaska, the Yukon, and British Columbia.
Rave: New hearing aids, this AM. I can hear again! Rants: Not a one. |
P.S.: Meant to say, before I hit "post", thank you to those of you giving me moral support for the fitness program, and for your sweet thoughts regarding my DGD. Ethel, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] sometime, and we'll talk about our diets! :-)
|
p_m...double rave about that.
it's a comfort to know the plans and procedures work, and are efficient. gotravel...neat! i can't see half of the concerts i've wanted to see cause they are so expensive!!! |
Bonnie--I will definitely do that. Probably not now though since I'm not really dieting. It's too hard in the summer--I enjoy drinking too much :) Maybe when we get back on track after Labor Day we can chat. I know it helps more than anything to have support.
|
Ethel, after Labor Day is much better for me, too! That's when I'll really buckle down again. Cavorting around with my seven-year old granddaughter is going to be a blast, but it won't do a lot for my diet! :p
|
Rave: Looking at new house this afternoon. Looking to down-size and simplify. Less house and more yard, that's the ticket.
Rave: GoTravel and the Doobies. Vintage rock but they can still crank it out. Great musicians and vocalists. Rant: the need for marble and upscale clientel. mm |
So many rants & raves and it's only 11 am West Coast time:):):)
Rave: March of the Penguins as mentioned above. These animals have a stronger sense of parenthood than even humans I think. Fascinating, I want to see it a second time! Rave: www.anysoldier.com. I mentioned this website once before, if anyone is interrested in sending gifts to the troops the website privides a list of names and their needs/wants. Very touching to read their memos. 15 packages from travelinwifey and counting:) Rave: overcast days, a rarety where I live Rave: Ice cream in the summer, even if it is low cal or yogurt Rave: The baby antelope squirrels in our yard. They just love fruit loops:D Rave: 2 weeks and 1 day till Alaska via a HAL cruise No rants:) Happy travels all:D:D:D |
Hello,
This is my first FFR&R posting. OWJ-My thoughts are with you! I'm a cat lover too and know how hard it is to lose a sweet kitty! Rave: Sister and nephew coming to visit soon. Rave: GTG's are getting closer to where I live...hopefully will attend one soon! Rave: Recently returned from first trip to Alaska and loved it! Rave: Trip to India in November...very excited about this, even though it's a long way off yet. No real rants today, yet. Hope everyone has a good weekend! |
Florida1, welcome to our FFR&R frenzy! ((f)) Glad to have you ... :-)
|
Welcome Florida1 ! =D>
I bet you cannot wait until your India trip. (I can't wait until your India trip report!) :) Again, welcome to FFR&R, Tiff |
Thanks for the welcome! I will definitely post a trip report for India. I'm sure I'll be asking questions on the Asia forum as the trip gets closer!
Forgot another rave: going to Savannah for a girls weekend in a few weeks! |
Thanks for the welcome! I will definitely post a trip report for India. I'm sure I'll be asking questions on the Asia forum as the trip gets closer!
|
Oops sorry about the double/messed up post!
|
travelinwifey- If I could send just one soldier a one-way ticket out of Iraq I would do it if it worked. Until then their gifts will await them here at home where our soldiers in Iraq belong.
Rave: Mr. Bush is enjoying his five week vacation from his war in Iraq. Rant: Approx. 55 soldiers will die in Iraq while he enjoys his vacation from his war in Iraq. Rave: Mid term elections coming up meaning a better chance of our soldiers coming home. There are polititian's futures at stake here for God's sake. |
I wish I could repond to everyone here, but I can't remember it all, lol!
OWJ--So sorry you are having to go through this. My thoughts are with you. Everyone else, it is good to hear all the fun news, and for those of you going through rough times, remember to lean on friends and family...even cyber friends:) |
Hi Florida, welcome!! Sometimes I think jorr's FFR&R's keeps all of us from having nervous breakdowns sometimes!!
I believe our Marilyn here is going to India in December. I can only imagine how excited you must be. Ethel, so it was YOU who put the box on the stove, oooops!! Let me share something with you, with everyone actually. I was in the insurance busness for ages and you cannot imagine how many fires are started by empty pots being left on stove. Same thing as your box Ethel. A burner is turned on, the wrong one, and the empty pot catches on fire. Lots of kitchen fires are started this way. And than there was my "oooops" moment. Put a pan with water on the stove, put a plastic baby bottle in it to warm up the milk. Left the house and about two or three hours later said "OH NO". The Fire Department did a great job of contatining the fire to just the kitchen area however...:-[ |
