Rave: I'm off this weekend AND Monday!! Woo hoo!! (I worked last weekend).
Rant: A lot of fights on Fodors lately. It's like a bad accident. You know you should not look but you keep on looking when you see there were more replies. You keep telling yourself not to look and not to say anything, but then you fail at some point. I admit I egged on one person on one of threads. It was just irresistible (I think that last line was kind of a rave). Rave: I still love Fodors and PLEASE try NOT to get a fight going on this thread! :-) |

RAVE: Lost two more pounds this past week, that's 15 pounds in two months!!! (And I've been "on vacation" traveling frequently in that time so I think I'm learning to "live and eat moderately!")
RANT: Sick with sore throat, congestion in August, for Pete's sake! RAVE: Carly Patterson and the USA gymnasts!!!!!! RANT: People who are just plain MEAN, and enjoy it! More around than we think....... (Sorry, family issues!) RAVE: The great ones on this Fodor's board! Happy Friday, all! |
Rave: The Olympic coverage (with the exception of Bob Costas) is so goofy it makes it even more entertaining!
"Here comes a Skill!! OH NO!!! It's a Skill AND and Element!! This is just riveting!!!! This is as THRILLING as I've ever seen!!!" Rant: The death count from Charley keeps climbing. Please stop. |

Scarlett, Brandon Hanson was the favorite to win the men's 100 meter breastroke.
Kosuke Kitajima won but on the turn was dolfin kicking underwater. Jason Lezak and Aaron Peirsol both claimed Japan's gold-medal winner, Kosuke Kitajima, used an illegal kick on his turn; Kitajima edged Hansen 1:00.08 to 1:00.25 after trailing by .04 going into the turn. It was very obvious he used this kick. Since Peirsol is challeging Kitajima's gold, the judge challenged his gold for the mens 200 meter backstroke as a political statement. Since disqualifying him would have moved everyone up a notch, Great Britain would have won the bronze in third instead of finishing fourth. Great Britain is now challenging Peirsol's medal reinstatement saying the disqualification was overturned on a technicality. The technicality was that the disqualification must be in English and it was not in English. |
Happy Friday again...
Rant - It is rainy and dreary outside and I leave for a long weekend at the lake in a few hours. Rave- Everyone at home is healthy. Daughter is settled into her first week of college and loves it. |
Rave: I just put my house on the market.
Rant: I'm surprised at how bittersweet it feels: excitement about a new home, yet a sadness about leaving my home of 20 years. I cried when I turned onto my street coming from work and saw the "For Sale" sign on my front lawn. My daughter said my sadness will disappear when I go shopping for "new stuff" for the new place - hope she's right! Congratulations to all Olympic medal winners, and best wishes to all for a great weekend! |

Rant: Cannot stay awake to see the end of any of the primetime Olympics Rave: It is Friday!! (I'll ignore the fact that I have to come to the office tomorrow) |
Rave-The US Olympic Team. With the exception of the spoiled men's basketball team, they have done a great job and have shown exemplary sportmanship. Way to go team!

Rant or rave ... you call it!
But Smiley Face is neck-and-neck with Friday rant/rave ... 30-30. Suggestion: could Fodors add a requirement to post ... must demonstrate proficiency in smiley faces, flags, flowers and cocktail glasses before being permitted to Register. We need a better selection as well. I'm getting tired of those really teethy grins ... Sigourney Weaver'd feel right at home. |
rave: had 3 days off from work and took the kids to Plymouth, MA
rant: it was the trip from hell rant: all they did was argue and could never agree on anything, was ready to leave by the end of the first day rant: the weather forecast was for sun and 75 degrees, but changed quickly to cold and cloudy/rainy for 2 of the 3 days rant: daughter had poison ivy the whole time and I had to share a bed with her, oh and did I tell you she has verbal outbursts in her sleep too? can you say "no sleep"? rant: she also forgot her favorite teddy bear in the hotel room after I reminded her 3 times not to forget it rave: the hotel is mailing teddy home to her rave: lesson learned, will not be taking them anywhere overnight for a while rave: did see Princess Diaries 2 and got lots of school shopping done though! rave: everyone else's raves! |
