Scarlett, Brandon Hanson was the favorite to win the men's 100 meter breastroke.
Kosuke Kitajima won but on the turn was dolfin kicking underwater. Jason Lezak and Aaron Peirsol both claimed Japan's gold-medal winner, Kosuke Kitajima, used an illegal kick on his turn; Kitajima edged Hansen 1:00.08 to 1:00.25 after trailing by .04 going into the turn. It was very obvious he used this kick. Since Peirsol is challeging Kitajima's gold, the judge challenged his gold for the mens 200 meter backstroke as a political statement. Since disqualifying him would have moved everyone up a notch, Great Britain would have won the bronze in third instead of finishing fourth. Great Britain is now challenging Peirsol's medal reinstatement saying the disqualification was overturned on a technicality. The technicality was that the disqualification must be in English and it was not in English. |
Happy Friday again...
Rant - It is rainy and dreary outside and I leave for a long weekend at the lake in a few hours. Rave- Everyone at home is healthy. Daughter is settled into her first week of college and loves it. |
