Rant: Strike notice given today to Sutter by RNs and hospital workers union. It looks like it will be a long one. I hate these things!! Strike is set to happen on August 9.

Rave: a weekend off for garden tours, wine tasting and R&R.

My sympathties to all in the midst of struggle and loss.

And to everyone, a good weekend.

OWJ, we went through a similar situation with our dog. When to give up?? Well, all I can say is listen to kitty and she will tell you what she wants. Our dog told us for months that she was ready but we didn't want to hear it. I'm not saying that kitty is ready, I don't know because I'm not there. Also you should consult with your vet and he/she can help you make the right decision. There is no right or wrong answer here, so remember that whatever decision you make will be the right one. Major hugs to you, I'll be thinking of you and OWJ2.

OWJ, my heart aches for your and Sayna Kitty's suffering. It's so hard to be responsible for their well-being and yet have to face decisions that involve such pain to yourself. Hope you and kitty get a break.

OWJ, boy do I feel for you. Let's hope the antibiotics work and kitty gets stronger quickly. Keeping good thoughts.

When PM said she went to another floor to use the bathroom I got a flash back from a previous job. After working in the two story building where the people on each floor were completely separated from each other I started noticing that second floor people were using the first floor BR and my co-workers on the first floor were using the second floor BR! I guess people do that to save themselves from some "embarrasing" BR moments. Anyone else seen this at your work place?

Jor - when I read your comment I fell off my chair. LOL. A good sence of humor goes a long way in my book.

P_M Jul 29th, 2005 09:58 AM

HA!! I never thought of that, but I can assure you that the "embarassing moment" wasn't the reason I went upstairs. As I mentioned in my first rant, the bathrooms on our floor are being remodeled, so that's why we have to go elsewhere. But I will remember the floor-changing strategy in case the need should arise. :-)

MMS-Congrats on climbing the South Sister- I did it once and it is really hard I think- but I made it - and makes me happy every time I drive by and know I sat up there on the top.

sorry about your MIL- I am an only child too so know what that is like - when my father died I was in the middle of a divorce and he lived in Canada- me in the US - not fun

Fodorite018 Jul 29th, 2005 11:57 AM

Sunbum--Thanks:) Yes, it is hard, but oh so worth it! This was my 4th time. DH is actually taking our DS who is 11 to climb it in a few weeks. It is such a feeling of accomplishment. Sorry to hear you dealt with the same thing as far as loss and being an only child. It does make me thankful that my brother and I and our families are close.

Scarlett--Have a safe trip! If you can't quite make it to the 5th Avenue Suites and need an internet fix before that, just stop on by!

BTW, we already went berry picking. I thoroughly enjoyed telling DS about the strawberry picking and the bus when I was his age. He looked at me and commented that it sounded like an awful job, lol! Maybe thats good...he will be on best behavior lest he think he will get relegated to that, lol!

RAVE: The high temps have dropped across N.C. Wow, who knew the mountains could get THAT warm???

RANT: OWJ's dear kitty is still unwell! Thinking of you both, OWJ! ((l))

RAVE: Seetheworld's high test score! Way to go, girl! ((f))

RANT: Friends who do out-of-character things, and unsettle friendships. Went to the mountains with a very good friend, planning (for weeks) that we'd go on Saturday, return on Thursday (riding together in her car ... me helping with expenses.) When she hears her son is staying an extra day, she immediately tells him she will, too, without even a whaddya-think to me! Yes, I'm real ticked! :-( It's the principle ...

Mms, so sorry about your MIL's passing. Happy trails to you, Miss Scarlett! :-) Have a wonderful weekend, all!

jorr Jul 29th, 2005 12:15 PM

New Rave: The house painter just called and said he will bring Five people in the morning to get the job done!...or almost done. He fired the helper who ran his mouth with bizzare stuff, and will never be back. YaHoo. My next big thing is the replacement of the septic system next month. I hope everything works out....pleeease.

To everyone who has expressed a loss today, I wish you the best in the future. And to everyone who has had a great week I also wish you the best.
