jorr - must have been quite a party to use a patio table as a trampoline! Ouch! [-X

Rave: Friday I was at Little Dix Bay BVI drinking frozen festive cocktails.

P_M Jul 3rd, 2006 11:22 AM

I'm almost afraid to ask--but what were your friends doing on the patio furniture to cause it to break? :-O

JAGIRL Jul 3rd, 2006 11:23 AM

P_M,
Thanks for asking...I was too afraid to ask! :))

LoveItaly Jul 3rd, 2006 11:25 AM

Yes jorr, inquiring minds want to know!!

OldSouthernBelle Jul 3rd, 2006 11:41 AM

jorr: Well, take a twist from the 'make lemonade' saying and maybe have a bonfire tonight & roast marshmellows?

Hope your 4th was lovely. I had legal research today and missed the fireworks for the first time in years, but there's always next year.
I did eat too much though. If anyone wants to start a Fodor's support group, let me know!

Late-breaking Rant: Kenneth Lay, the Enron crook has died. This is a rant because he hurt so many people and will never serve a day in prison. I am sorry for his family, they are innocent people who have lost a loved one. But I'm also sorry for the nice people I knew from Enron who will not have justice, in the sense of watching him go to prison.

JAGIRL Jul 5th, 2006 07:40 AM

Isn't his death the ultimate punishment though? How many of those victims wished that he would just...well...drop dead?
He apparently did just that it seems. Massive heart attack.

GoTravel Jul 5th, 2006 07:41 AM

How awful.

chelseaM Jul 5th, 2006 07:56 AM

It has been the topic of my office this morning(and Korea, but that's different).

The reality of his actions is beyond comprehension. I think the stress on his heart and nervous system must have worn him out.

It makes Martha Stewart look like a Girl Scout in comparison..

P_M Jul 5th, 2006 08:01 AM

I guess the Enron thing always hit home with me because I was working in oil and gas at that time and I knew so many people who were directly affected. I think crime victims always feel some sense of justice when the bad guy goes to jail and that won't happen this time. But at least they got to hear a jury convict him, so I hope that was enough to give them closure.

Once again, despite what he did I send blessings to his grieving loved ones.
