jorr, I've been very gentle. Just trying to set the record straight. This NSA program has been ongoing since the Clinton Administration, 1999, and even reported on last December. It's all Much Adu About Nothing, but blown up by the liberal "drive-by" media right before confirmation hearings for the next CIA Director. Actually, I would be more concerned about what credit card companies are doing with your information.

Now, if you are conversing with Al Qaeda, you might want to be concerned. ((b))

Rant: The rain! There wasn't one little sun icon in the 5 day forcast :(

Rave: They are finally coming to fix my dishwasher today, I can use real plates again!

beachbum May 12th, 2006 09:15 AM

<<"decent bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir" is that an oxymoron? (wink wink)>>

Well, decent compared to California's anyway. ;-)

cmcfong May 12th, 2006 09:26 AM

Rave: I am so glad to see Tiff planning a trip with DH and a best friend. Love is really great medicine. Enjoy and keep seeing the light!
Rave: Pup is improving. fingers crossed it is not going to require surgery.
Rave: Bonnie, since you are not doing it I will. How about those Canes? Bonnie, you are in my thoughts.
Rave: My pup, who had cancer when she was four months old, developed a lump and we were mighty worried. Came back benign tumor. Apparently the tumor she has looks just like a fibrosarcoma (which is what she had when a baby) except for color and it was a pretty nervous week for us.
Rave: All those pups and kitties who make life fun. Hi Sophie!

Intrepid1 May 12th, 2006 09:33 AM

Rave: seriously considering attending the NJ GTG

Rant; now not so sure

P_M May 12th, 2006 09:34 AM

I'm on a short break from work, will check back later from home so I can catch up with everyone.

In the meantime I would like to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms of the world.

I would also like to send hugs to all whose mom is no longer physically present, but lives on in your heart. ((L))

BuffaloGirl May 12th, 2006 10:31 AM

Rant: After 14 years of working part time, I will more than likely be returning full time soon. My kid costs me a lot of $$$. He's worth it.

Rave: Returning full time means I'll have more money, which means I can start traveling more, right? :-) Perhaps a little celebratory getaway is called for!

Rave: I have the most wonderful son in the entire world. Really, I do!!!

Rave: THE BUFFALO SABRES ARE KICKING BUTT (we won't talk about last night's game, though).

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kal May 12th, 2006 10:45 AM

Rave: Intrepid1 actually showing up at a GTG.

Rant: See above. ((A))

RantRave (can't decide):
Seminar set for Richmond VA was changed to Dallas TX.
Nothing against the Big D but been there...done that. Never been to Richmond and one of my fave cousins lives there and I would have surprised him...and I have to fly out on Mother's Day. ((U))

Another rave..

DW had to have another mamogram today plus an ultrasound after m'gram two weeks ago showed a spot. No sign of it today so all is great.

caph,
We do have good times at the reunions and it's such an awesome thing whenever someone we haven't seen in 40-50 or 60 years shows up for the first time. Attendees were on board anytime between 1943 and 1965.

mikemo May 12th, 2006 11:25 AM

jbass, My neuroradiology partners and their very many colleagues paved that way in Dallas with the Egyptian twins.
Like in times of war, most medical progress happens when much seems impossible.

FainaAgain May 12th, 2006 12:22 PM

Rave: our older son is takin us (Mr Again and I) to a restaurant for the mother's day, and it's a "secret place"

Rave: younger son's graduation next week, and he'll stay in Berkeley for another year to finish his research job, this time paid - the grant was approved

Rave/rant: he'll continue his studies for MD or PhD, but maybe on the east cost, so far away...

Rant: the hotels in Chicago in September are so expensive... but I am determined to go anyway, maybe for shorter time... the very first trip absolutely alone!

Incognito May 12th, 2006 12:44 PM

Rave: my wife feels well enough so we could probably go to Charleston, SC to celebrate her birthday

Rave: we hope it won't be her last birthday

Rave: We have so many wonderful travel memories helping us forget sometime difficult moments during her illness

Rave: All posters who understand that traveling is an amazing experience

Rave: Memories of previous travels and pictures in photo albums (not those stored on a computer) are the best form of therapy in difficult times

Rave: I don't have to explain over and over why we used to travel often and now everything changed

Rave: Life is good even if there is possibility my wife's illness can return any moment. Every moment with her is the most cherish moment of my life

Rave: Appreciation for those posters who would want to read what I write

Rave: I learned not to get frustrated and complaint about small things such as a price of gas or my cousin's personal problems

rncheryl May 12th, 2006 12:54 PM

I have followed instructions and have taken complex notes as required, since I can't even remember what I had for lunch!

Ethel: Exciting time, sure that THE DRESS will be beautiful.

STW: You must be so proud..

Incognito: Lots to learn here

Ani: Just see CAPH's post to get a peak into the life of boys. Also get ready for slamming doors, unmatched exhuberance, sports, bodily noises, etc.

Can you tell I love Mothers Day..

Regards to all with loved ones with health challenges (loved ones being human and canine/feline)

FainaAgain May 12th, 2006 12:56 PM

KLR, can you shop around for crowns? I paid $415 for mine, gold, and in San Francisco everything is more expensive.

Jbass, I wonder in which country you live.

jbass May 12th, 2006 01:05 PM

Probably the same one as you -- what is that suppose to mean. Why do these threads become such an attack--it's like people in automobiles. Sheez!

CAPH52 May 12th, 2006 01:07 PM

To update, not only did DS's friends get seats on the main floor, they got to shake Conan's hand! And tennis did indeed get rained out. But DS seems to be handling it. He's decided he's proud of the fact that he has friends who shook hands with Conan! He's also trying to convince me that he's really interested in visiting Fordham. Of course, coincidentally, he wants to order tickets for Conan while we're there! Any advice about Fordham, STW?!

FainaAgain May 12th, 2006 01:31 PM

Rant: Kal's broken heart... and I am NOT the reason!! 8-}

Kal May 12th, 2006 01:41 PM

RAVE:
Faina2's $415 crown!!

That tiara you wore at the SF GTG looked MUCH more expensive than $415!

RANT: Faina2 actually making us all bow down before she was seated. =D>

FainaAgain May 12th, 2006 01:43 PM

Jbass, I only asked a question, this is not an attack.

You said "glad to live in a country where we value life", so I asked which country. I live in USA, but don't feel the same way you do.

When I go to see a doctor, my life is the last thing on his mind. That's why I asked.
