Just want to clarify...Daughter's height was listed as a Rave!

And another one-just booked tix to NY b/c my wonderful G'ma is taking the entire (22 people) family on a cruise to Nova Scotia in July!!

So many people hurting this week, I am so sorry.

JJ5, I hope you know that you are in my prayers daily..you and your family. You are a strong woman and you will make it through all of this but being able to vent is good IMO. Many hugs to you.

And dear Tiff, you know how I hurt and fret regarding what you and your dear husband are going through.

OWJ dear, am glad that OWJ2's back is getting better. I truly hope you two can have a relaxing weekend. And I am soooo happy that you two are having that "getaway". It is well deserved!

Mikemo, my first thought was a needle also!! I went running back to where the scale and counter was. No needle. Nothing was on the counter. The strange thing was how weird the NP acted. That still bothers me. Thank you for your concern..I actually thought of you on the way home yesterday. I hope the illness you mentioned was not picked up in China. May the illness and personal problems get cleared up quickly. I am sorry

klr,I know you will miss your precious daughter but try to take this quiet time and give yourself some "me time". I am sure you can use it.

Oldmyst, I got thinking today. My late DH had a pain in his heel once. The Dr. said it was a heelspur. The Dr. said he could operate but often the spurs went away. And it did! My SIL had the same problem a couple of years ago that also cleared up on its own..so I will hold a good thought for you. And don't mention dust and housekeeping, LOL!!

Hi PM, welcome home!! And I am so glad that the Dr's finally discovered what your sister's med problem was. If memory serves me right she had a medical problem some time ago. That is heartbreaking to think of her suffering all the years.

And dear friends, I just read the other day that some inventors have designed a TV that will not allow you to switch channels when TV ads come on, not even with Tivo. Now that is a rant for sure. But the article said they don't think that TV manufacturers will ever incorporate that into their models. Well I certainly hope not!

Hugs to all that are having problems of any kind..may life be kind to you and may you have a little angel sitting on your left shoulder guiding you through life.

LoveItaly, I think you are right about the heel spur. My DH has a heel spur and Plantar Fasciatis.

It is 4:17AM here in NY, and I can't fall back to sleep. I yearn for the days when I would sleep through the night. Maybe I am regressing to a baby and waking up for my middle of the night feedings! I do take Ambien CR. Maybe I am sleep writing to you right now! LOL

Hint for all of you who have heel spurs and/or Plantar Fasciitis - my DH was really suffering until we found a "foot rocker" on Footsmart.com which he used 2x a day. Also, he was told by a podiatrist to empty a hydrogen peroxide bottle, fill it with water, freeze it and roll the affected foot on it. And to reduce pain and help prevent future episodes of discomfort, stretch the calves on a regular basis. Stand with your hands against a wall. With one foot forward and one back, press against the wall, shifting weight over the front foot, while straightening the back leg. Keep the heel of the back foot on the floor and feel the stretch in the heel, Achilles tendon and calf. Then, switch legs. I really thought that his heel spur would prevent him from going on our extended trip to the southwest next month, but his heel spur is almost 100% cured. Hope this helps. Now, if only I could find something to fix MY sore knees.:)

Rave: Yes, P_M, my girlfriends son gave her one of his kidneys, she is 52 and long time dialysis and going downhill fast - from childhood disease - and he is 22, recent college grad and they are both now home from hospital and doing excellent !!

He is a wonderful boy, one of her sisters was supposed to do but that fell through for a number of reasons so he stepped up to the plate for his mom !

Fun4All - have fun with the girls....my own girls trip starts Tuesday....will be looking for your post -

Oldmyst enjoy your time w/ your pomeranian friend:)

Rant: Airlines lack of flexibility and treating passengers as non-humans!

Friend had reservations to fly to Bermuda from Savannah...trip routed him through DC. Before flight was to leave, one of his dear friends passed away in DC area and he drove from GA to DC (600 miles) for funeral. Airline would not let him board flight in DC to go to Bermuda. He had to drive back to Savannah, get on the plane there next day, then fly to DC and on to Bermuda! Geez!

Now...for a fee of $2200, he could have re-ticketed and boarded in DC. Another geez!

I know...probably something to do with TSA and terrorism, but passengers are not robots; they are real people with real problems. And the change would not have cost the airline ONE CENT! Or am I wrong?

Rave: Just picked up Prince from his home in Manhattan. He was at the groomers today and looks just like a teddy bear. We are going to have a great week together.

Rave: My DD Winterguard group performed today in NJ. I enjoyed watching all the groups perform. They are all so dedicated and talented.

Rant: Driving there and back in the pouring rain at night.

Night night for me. Good night and sweet dreams to you all. Jorr, I hope you didn't eat any spicy foods before bed???

LoveItaly,
Thankfully, my rant re: illness, etc. was not personal.

Thanks to all for your well-wishes! Hopefully by tomorrow my mom will know if the cancer is going to be a little problem or a big problem with the CT results. The waiting is so difficult...on the other hand it gives you time to digest each piece of information at a time.

Rant: When someone on Fodors contacts me through my email addy for travel advice, I spend a good amount of time responding, and they never reply again with a simple "thank you" after I've answered their question. This has happened several times now.

Rave: Leaving tomorrow for sunny Florida!

Warmest regards travelers:) So nice to see familiar faces as always:)

jorr Apr 24th, 2006 09:50 AM

travelinwifey, I think you deserve a thank you or at least some kind of reply.

mikemo Apr 24th, 2006 12:17 PM

The 5% or so of folks we have actually met through TA forums have been wonderful, and grateful for any help.
Makes it worth the/my effort.

Little late on this, but Rant: Air France not getting bags where they're supposed to on flights connecting through CDG (they never get it right for me!)

Rave: Pansies blooming and first local asparagus of the season here yesterday.
