Freaky Friday Rants and Raves 4/16
Okay, I'll start:
Rant: how can it get down to 38 in NC in mid-April? Rave: the chill is keeping the blooms on the dogwood, cherries, redbuds, azaleas, etc. This is the week to be in Carolina in the Morrrrrrrrrrrr-ning. |
Rave: taxes are in.
Rant: make Omarossa go away. |
Rant: That Trump is viewed as the face of American business. For years, Trump has been something of a joke in the New York financial world. Perhaps joke is too strong of a word, let's just say he doesn't garner much in the way of respect.
As it stands now, his Atlantic City casinos are on the verge of their second bankruptcy and rumors are that he has become the public face on an empire with his name, but someone else's money. Speculation is that he once again overextended himself and needed to ditch most of his assets. Hey, he's a good developer and an expert at marketing. I just wouldn't say that he is viewed in the same league as someone like Warren Buffet. Rave: For someone that said I'd never be caught dead in one, I have to admit that the Honda Odyssey is a godsend for someone with two small kids. |
Rave: That Omarossa made a jack*ss of herself on national television. I hope any job offers she had were watching and retract their offers.
Rant: I'm waiting for her 15 minutes to be up. Then again, I'm waiting for Jennifer Lopez's 15 minutes to be up also. Rave: My friend left for Key West today and I leave for vacation in Miami and Puerto Rico on Thursday!! Rave: Going to see Kill Bill 2 tonight Rave: It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here in NYC Rant: Thinking about how will I get my cat into the carrier when I leave for vacation. Any suggestions?? |
whoo hoo friday!! :-"
rave: this w'end will be really nice in new york/long island. rave: (or rant?) kitty is getting big! ((@)) rave: helping out at a bake sale tomorrow morning as part of an organization to help the democratic campaign. ie...bake back the white house! >:D< rave: getting a haircut this afternoon and the guy does a really good job! rant: kind of broke, taxes aren't done yet! oh well. :(( happy w'end fodorites! :-D |
Rave: Beautiful morning here in Maryland, clear skies, grass is lush green. Cant wait to take top down on the jeep for the ride home this afternoon.
Rant: I overslept this morning - no gym. Rave: Mailed my tax forms in yesterday. Rant: Anyday now that check will be cashed!! |
Rave: My brother and nephew are on their way up from Florida to visit us here at home in Boston. Can't wait to see them - its been 2 years. They must be bringing the Florida sunshine with them - its might reach the high 80s here on Monday.
Rave: Red Sox Yankees series this weekend - always fun regardless of the outcome (with one very notable exception). Rave: Boston Bruins fans who, in response to crass Montreal Canadian fans booing the US National Anthem during a playoff hockey game, showed respect and dignity by cheering wildly and supportively during the Canadian National Anthem last night at the Fleet Center. Stupid radio talk show hosts had been trying to encourage Bruin fans to boo in retaliation - so relieved to see that didn't happen. Rave: Bill won. Rant: Kwame lost. Two decent guys. |
Rant: Assorama. Someone please tell it to go away. Please. It is getting painful watching her continue to make a jackass of herself.
Rave: It's supposed to be in the mid 80s today! Rave: Two more weeks until South Beach! |
Rant: It finally stopped raining and is going to be a gorgeous weekend.
Rant: Going car shopping this weekend, and furniture shopping. Rave: I agree, will Omarossa please just go away! Rant: Yeah Bill! |
I'm dyslexic this morning! I got may rants and raves backwards :)
|
Rave: It was a gorgeous and sunny 75 degrees at Wrigley Field yesterday, and the Cubs won!
Rant: It took me 2 1/2 hours to drive home after the game. Rave: Although I have serious work to do today, the wonders of a wireless notebook will enable me to do it from my back deck. Rant: Next vacation is still 2 1/2 months away. |
Rave: Boston fans. All the class in the world.
Rant: Pedro. He'll get it together. Rave: as long as Nick and Omarosa lost, All is good. |
Rant: my post will be deleted if i say what i think of omarosa (i was addicted to that show but please let's all pledge to boycott no. 2 if they bring her back! wouldn't want that behavior to be rewarded!)
Rave: it will be in the 70s this weekend! Rant: 2 longggg months till riviera maya! Rave: Just 2 months to go till riviera maya! |
I will boycott if they bring Assorama back.
|
Rant: that I've become cynical enough to believe that Omarossa will continue to prosper and extend her 15 minutes of fame...wonder sometimes if there really is justice in the world...
Rave: It's supposed to be 75 out today, the sun's shining so I can play! Work? Nah... |
Rave: Booking my vacation to Sanibel Island and going in just 5 weeks!
Rant: Seeing Oh-no-rosa everywhere! |
Rant: those darn expedia pop-ups are getting on my nerves!
|
Rave Orioles beat Red Sox( who just keep worrying about Yankees) Rant-have to clean and cook for a party on Saturday. Rave-Party on our new deck five floors up overlooking Baltimore Inner Harbor Rave- leaving for 10 day sailing trip in leewards (2nd one in 2 months). Rant- Ravens season is still so far away!
|
Rave: It's supposed to be 80 today!!
Rant: For once, I really don't have one. It's one of those days on which I realize almost all of my problems are pretty small. missjanna: Try holding the cat under its "arms." Let the body hang down and lengthen out. Have cage standing on end so the door is facing upward. Start lowering the cat into the cage. My cats don't resist or try to grab on at this point because they want to get their feet on something solid. By the time the back feet have hit the end of the cage, I can move one hand over the front paws to prevent grabbing onto the edge of the cage. Neither the cat nor I have been too severely traumatized by this method. |
Rave:
Another gorgeous day in Florida Rant: Getting sucked into childish threads , won't happen again, I promise. Missjanna! My little cat would turn into a contortionist to stay out of a carrier, the only way we could manage was to put him in backwards..once we had to wrap him in a towel first, to protect us from claws..good luck~ |
rant: watching Assorama on talk shows like The View, and Regis and Kelly, getting in arguments with female hosts, and lieing to the world that one of the other girls called her the "N" word. Since then the other girl has been on two live broadcasts and called Assorama a lier. Assorama is a total racist bitch.
rave. Yesterday it was 75 (above zero!) up here in the great north mid-west!!! |
Rave: Omarossa getting caught lying on camera. (Anyone who hires her deserves what they get.)
Rant: I was looking forward to The Donald raking her over the coals for her atrocious performance, but he wimped out. Rave: Prime Suspect this Sunday! Rant: All the best tv crammed onto Sunday night! Rave: Television programs are all I can find to rant about this week. Life must be ok. |
Yay-couldn't wait to post!
RAVE: I had my amazing baby girl on Easter morning! RANT: Are you kidding??!!!! |
Wow! Congratulations, Ani!!!! That's a rave, indeed!
|
Congrats Ani!!! I was about to say why was there no countdown to due date this week! LOL
Thanks for the cat & the carrier suggestions!! My only problem with this is that since I adopted a fraidy cat who may have been bothered in the past, she will not let anyone PICK HER UP!!! I have left the carrier open in the middle of the room hoping that she gets used to it. So far she's only sniffed it (and undoubtedly smells my parents cat on it!!) Maybe spraying the carrier with catnip will help? |
congrats on the baby!
BIG RAVE: kwame was just on cnbc. said mark cuban of dallas mavericks waited 2 hours for him at his after-party and offered him a job managing portfolio investments. that's really nice because kwame is a really nice/classy guy. p.s: he wouldn't tell the host if he accepted the job. |
missjanna, I have a few suggestions for you, cat-wise.
The first is to wash down the carrier, inside and out, with a solution of bleach and water. This should get rid of the smell of other cats which will only make yours more nervous. Second, you can pick your cat up using a large towel to restrain her. It can be tricky getting her out of the towel and into the carrier, and it certainly helps to have 2 people to do this. You might want to put something in the carrier that she is familiar with -- something that she sleeps on, perhaps, or an article of clothing that smells like you if that will be comforting to her. No matter what we have ever done, our cats have always hated the carrier. It screams one word to them, "VET!" |
Rave: Ani: I wasn't going to post on Freaky Friday today, (busy w/visitors and busy w/work, etc.) but I can't help myself now!! This is even better than you not posting and leaving us wondering. So happy for you and glad it went o.k. You have many sweet happy moments (and others we won't talk about now, better to just wait and weather those when they come) ahead of you. P.S. Feel free to rant about being exhausted next wk., it's ok to rant even after you have a sweet little baby.
Rave: Sunshine and 80 degrees this weekend in the nation's capitol. Picnic recipes dancing through my brain. Have in-law company from Boston here and they are really enjoying it and deserve it too, after all that torrential rain they got recently (right, bennie?) |
Rave: Congrats to Ani - how precious! Does she have a name?
Rave: Nice weather at last! Rave: Red Sox vs Yankees - go SOX! Rants: Tax return was spent a month ago - boohoo. Rave: Helping the economy by spending most of it! Rave: Saved some for Christmas - oh no - am I going to get slammed for even mentioning Christmas after waiting FOREVER for Spring? |
Rave: Ani, congratulations and don't sneeze because the next 18 yrs. go by in an eyeblink, even if you think these each of these early nights is going on for months!
Rant: that I even know who Omorossa is. She said that her brother was in jail -- is lack of conscience or shame a family trait? (Plus maybe inability to avoid getting caught.) Nonetheless, I think more of the whole thing was scripted than Burnett et al would have us think, and I expect them to be dumb enough to bring her back. Must-not-see-TV. Rave: Spring in the Triangle is, as soccr said, at its peak. |
emd - You are so right - right as rain if you'll pardon the pun. I hope your Bostonians enjoy the sunshine.
Ani- Congratulations. May the warmth of the sun always shine on you and your baby. ((#)) Imagine being born on Easter Sunday. What a blessing. ((R)) |
Rave: Had a wonderful two days in Monterey at the Plaza Hotel. Off to Oregon for a week now!!! Ashland, Astoria, Seaside, etc. Can't wait to see these gorgeous places again!!!
Rant: None at this time!! ***kim*** |
Ani! Congratulations!! How wonderful. Details! Did you go with the names you thought of ? Did you ever see anything so small as those fingers and toes and ears???
Happy day~ |
Rave: April 19-25 is "National Turn-
OFF the TV Week" Can you ????? :-? Rave: Never saw the Donalds' show. ....Counting my lucky stars. ********************************** Rave: Ani's baby ! R5 |
Rant? I have none because....
RAVE: It's 75 degrees here in mid-Michigan and that makes everything else bearable! |
Congratulations, Ani! Sign her up for Fodor's discussion board ((#))
Razzle, am I allowed to take a peek at the travel channel? |
Rant: Turned 41 today.
Rave: Beautiful day to be turning 41 - no #@$%ing rain. |
Congratulations Ani!
Rave: I just got back from a great week in Rome. Rant: What happened to the San Jose GTG thread? I take it it was pulled. I so want to meet all those interesting San Jose people. :-( |
Faina-OK,but just this once! [-X
