Yawn boring, I think you're missing my point. Of course a dialysis tube isn't "God's Will". But I don't think keeping a person on dialysis has anything more to do with "God's Will" than a feeding tube. My point was simply that how can you use the excuse that inserting the feeding tube (or the dialysis tube, for that matter) was GOD'S will?
Or that a decision to remove either has anything to do with going against "GOD'S will"? My bottom line point was that there are a lot of reasons a person can be for or against the removal of the tube, but saying "it's God's will that it NOT be removed" just seemed particularly absurd to me, since God's will has nothing to do with feeding tubes period. |

And my thoughts are to those with loves ones in bad situations. Rant: politicans getting in the way of health care (and not just Terri Shiavo). I hope this opens family discussions over what type of end-of-life care you want. In North Carolina, the Secrtary of State (for hte state) will scan your documents into a website availabe 24/7. That way your choices are avaible if a crisis arrises. Not what people want to talk about, but very important. If you're visiting relatives soon, let them know of your choices now. Put it in writing. And then let people know where the document are. Rant/Rave: 3 local college teams playing tonight. 2 at the same time, and one really late. ncgirl, I think the Boobirds are like "fair-weather friends," right, Ronkala? ....... gave Sendek a real hard time early on this year but are jumping up and down on the bandwagon now. I think he's done a great job........ I hope the Triangle shines tonight! If we could get three teams in the Elite Eight, wouldn't that be grand! :-) Seetheworld, don't bet on the mouth surgery doing too much for my diet! Unfortunately, I'm a mac 'n cheese and meat loaf fan....... I can do a lot of damage with those. But I am trying, kid! ;;) Will keep you posted...... |
Yawn_boring, What universe were you born on? Why don't you just go ahead and compare it to a bad knee while your at it? My best friend of eighteen years was a hospice nurse. She died in January in a hospice. She would tell you that you are a misinformed fool if she were alive to tell you. The comments I have read this week and last week are unblieveable.

uuhhh, I didn't mean to imply that I have an inside on God's Will. But my only point, which I can't seem to get across, is that I can't understand how ANYONE would think BOTH of the following at the same time:
1) It WAS God's will that man decided to insert a feeding tube in a dying woman. 2) It IS NOT God's will that man can determine to remove that feeding tube. Now I promise I'll shut up about it. |

Rave: MIL & FIL are home after a long visit with other siblings in SFO, we want them all to ourselves ((l)) Rant: I got food poisoning last week from buying food from a local street vender. I got my blood drawn Wed. & there seems to be some type of infection in my pancreas. Have to get an ultrasound next week. I'm fine though. Rave: My parents are going to Tampa next month and staying at the Don Cesar in St. Pete's. Dad has always wanted to stay at this hotel. |
