JJ5, having lived in the land of sun for so long now I forget how early it sets in other parts of the country. My only gripe with springing ahead is that lost hour of precious sleep! :-)
|
Hi Carol! "Obrigado!" :)
Tiff: I am sending heaps and heaps of hope your way!!! ((l)) Bennnie and Eeva: My old-fashioned Italian dad was very strict about his girls wearing makeup! One time I forgot to wash it off my face before I walked in the door -- boy was he mad! |
STW:
Just wanted to say thanks for your turning off the bulb yesterday. R5 |
Quick response here...supposed to be balancing the check book (Rant?)
razzledazzle...I totally can't wait for Daylight Savings Time! Rave: All is well here in Va. Rant: DH is in Myrtle Beach on a golf trip and I am here. Rave: I got a beautiful flower arrangement from him and I even boarded the dog for added peace and quiet! klr....Let me know if you find a collar that works. We have the barking issue and can't put our dog on the screened in porch because of it. Happy weekend to all! |
I have to admit that I've certainly never missed not having DST where I now live. It's nice not to have to deal with the time and drastic daylight change.

Hey! :D
Rave: Baby boy is here, we have been having such a good time, eating waaay too much good food, not much of it my cooking LOL Having great fun sightseeing Portland , the waterfalls, the wine country.. Rant: Baby boy leaves Sunday Rant: Pup was not well, had to have all sorts of tests, I was very worried. Rave: Pup is perfectly well and fine and did I say Perfect? Apparently, even though he is an adult and has had no reactions in the past to his vaccinations, he had one. But he is well and perfect ((&)). Raving: Had a super duper wonderful Birthday..it was worth getting a year older to have it :D Such a lovely surprise to log on to Fodors last night and find a thread wishing me Happy ((L)) Went to the Wine country, got lost, found ourselves in strange small towns with wonderful old homes and farms with beautiful horses and a fantastic rainbow ((R)) that seemed to be touching the trees, which led us back home..I swear, it did!! Good Friends, family, good health, nothing worth ranting about ((F)) |
Rave: I'm home, and I'm now relaxing with the R&R's, instead of reading them on the sly at work. :-D
Birthday greetings to LoveItaly's grandson and to Miz Scarlett. ((^)) stw, so sorry to hear you have been sick. I hate penicillin because of the nasty smell of it. I'm sure you know what I mean. YUK!! Statia, welcome back. How exciting to see the Pope!! Back in 1980, before the previous pope was shot, I was priveleged enough to stand just a few feet from him. Today that's an even greater privelege because of increased security. I'm glad you had that experience. Tiff, whatever you are hoping for, I hope you get it a million times over!! >:D< starsville, I'm glad the sun is shining in your life again. What a great feeling!! May the sun forever shine upon you. ((H)) Faina, I'm so jealous about Israel!! I've always wanted to go there, but twice I've planned it and fell through due to problems going on there. I'm hoping to go either later this year or sometime in 2007. But I'm not jealous about the broken tooth. OUCH!! I hope it's better. sfamylou, I'll be the prayer blanket. :-) JJ5, thinking of you as always during thise tough times. ethel, I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker. You ARE being heard, but we don't always get the answers we want. Besides, the doctors can do so much these days, please do not lose hope. AnnMarie, good luck on your skaing test. I wish I could ice skate, but I would need lots of protective gear, and so would everyone around me. C:) Happy weekend all!! |
I look forward to the time changes just like seasons. Feels as good as brand new colors for the sheets to me.:)
In the fall it seems so perfect to snuggle in and sleep that extra hour. It ushers in the hoilidays and fires in the fireplace. It feels good to pull on the fleece and dig out the cozy slippers... ....and then....one day... right about now...I am tired of the rain, the cold, the jackets. All the hills around me are luciously green. Bring those sandals out of hibernation ! YeSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Maaaaaaaaaaaam' ! I also look forward to the many pedicures that Daylight Savings Time will bring. :)) ((R)) ((R)) ((R)) ((R)) ((R)) ((R)) R5 |
Hi Kureiff, I have a Rave..it seems like a BIG one to me. The fellows came back to day and put a new motor in the refrigerator and it is now as so quite it is almost scary, LOL. They said new motors for refrigerators do not cost that much (so why didn't they do that to begin with, sigh) so maybe you should check into that for your refrigerator? It costs nothing to ask.
Hi birthday girl Scarlett, am so happy dear Pup is alright now. I was worried. And my dear Tiff, you know what my prayers are for you. Trish, I wish I was talented like you are, your DH will be thrilled. And STW, prayers you feel perfect by next week. I do not handle meds well either. And JJ5, you know you are always in my prayers. You have had some rough months but you handle it with such good grace. And Faina darlin..just think..when Day Light Saving arrives it will be sunny (well maybe not sunny in SF but daylight) when you leave work. I am like Razzle (love your description Razzle) I can hardly wait!! To everyone again, take care and have a good weekend. |
Rave,
IW, Things aren't just well here in Virginia, they are fantastic. George Mason is going to the Elite Eight after beating Witchita State tonight. |
I also have a new rave. My coworker gave me a huge pikake blossom from a bush in her yard. So I put it behind my ear, as she did.
I just realized why women in Hawaii put flowers behind their ears (other than, it looks good)! The smell was so strong, the fabulous pikake scent subtly wafts to my nose constantly. It's just far enough from my nose to be subtle, but close enough to keep me in tropical scents all day long. |
ronkala... Wohoo for George Mason... I am glad that a Va. team is in the fight:) I am a Hokie, but I can pull for other Va teams, as long as it's not the Whooos of UVA....hahaha Best of luck to GM!!!!!
|
And of course I meant the new motor in my refrigerator is quiet not quite, although I am quite pleased. But heaven help me if the spelling/typo Fodorites read my post, sigh, LOL.

This was a fun board this week..I'm glad that the major drama in my life is over...I wondered if you all roll your eyes and go..uh oh.... its that klr again!
Frankie is a spoiled pup.Period. He has enough chews, toys, beds, etc to keep 3 dogs content. He just wants attention.. all he knows is that the first 6 years of his life, HE was the baby..then along came that two legged baby!! I hate the idea of a shock collar,so as long as sis is OK with him being at her house..we'll avoid that road for now. A wonderful rave- Continetal actually changed seats on PDX-EWR flight for sis and my daughter. They were booked at seperate times and 2 rows apart.Hated the thought of not getting a volunteer to switch for such a long flight. I sent a nice email hoping to atleast get cross referenced, but they took it a step further..major relief! |
Fantastic news klr, I hope you continue to have good news. And your Frankie, my pup was spoiled rotten too, LOL. Hope that all works out well for you and your Frankie also. Do have a relaxing weekend and know that life will get get better little by little, honest! Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you, P_M! If I don't pass there's a 28 day waiting period to re-test so I am keeping my, um, blades crossed that all goes well ;-)
|
Thank you cmcfong, divingaggie, ethel, P_M, LoveItaly, and SeeTheWorld.
Right back at you >:D< sfamylou ~ I said a prayer for your friend yesterday. |
What an amazing number of raves this week. Lots of travel plans and good news. I am also amazed at how many people have related to my "shut up" rant!
Another Rave: Mom got over the flu. Flu is dangerous for her. There are a few posts about the long winter. I guess it is happening all over the upper US. Here in northern Minnesota the ground is still about 75% covered with snow which is from last November. Normally there is no snow left by now. I still have an 8 ft. deep snow bank on the yard. My dog thinks it is a toy mountain just for him to play on. |
Big Rave: Gators made it to the "Elite Eight" after a big win over Georgetowne. Billy Donovan has turned what was once a school known only for football into one with a major basketball program as well.
Rave: The weather here in S. Florida. Very cool temps this weekend. Maybe our snowbird friends aren't as happy about it as we locals but it is nice to have the cool weather one last time before it starts to heat up. Rant: Last weekend marked the 3rd anniversary since the beginning of the war in Iraq. I'm afraid that we have become mired in a major mess that may keep us there for many years to come. That said, I hope all will keep the very brave American men and women serving there in their thoughts and prayers. |
Rave: It was my daughter's 17th birthday yesterday, she had her annual checkup, she is healthy, got her a mennigitis vaccine, and had a good parent/teacher conference. She loved her present of a Betsy Johnson bag I bought her at a discount store. Good thing too because I couldn't return it!
Double Rave: I bought a Carvel ice cream cake and put BOTH daughters' names on the cake since we weren't together for my other daughter's 21st birthday March 8th. as she was out with her friends. I am so glad I put both names on the cake. My 21 year old looked so happy to be acknowledged. They actually allowed me to take pictures of them blowing out the candles! Rant: My babies aren't babies anymore! Rant: Article in this weekend NY Times about eating in Rome after I am home! Too late. Rave: I am trying to be so grateful for what I have, and how hard some people have it. Have a great weekend everybody! |
