Yes, my comment about the Home Depot aprons was about the recycling of "Gates". I just couldn't help myself. I've been involved in the arts (including public art) since I was a teen and my personal opinion of Gates is quite low. Very non-creative IMO.
BTW, I love shopping at Home Depot. |
Rave: my sweetie and I both gave notice at our respective jobs this week! Because of the nature of what we do (actually very different kinds of work, but they have this in common) we needed to give 6 months. And now we're into countown for moving out west. Very exciting stuff!
Rant: Got a "Barbie" birthday cake for our 6-year-old granddaughter last week. She came bouncing in for her birthday dinner and said sweetly "I don't really like cake very much." Rave: She is adorable and wonderful anyway, and my sweetie managed to eat most of the leftover cake. Rave: Spring is coming! Rant: But not yet. Snow still on the ground. Have a great weekend, everybody! |
Tpatricco, way to go!!!!!!! Keep up the good work at the gym...... it's so rewarding! :-)
Meetshare, your sweet granddaughter sounds like mine. We took her to The Nutcracker at that gorgeous theater (which I can't remember the name of) in Boston Christmas before last, when she'd just turned six. She'd only seen the movie, "Nutcracker Barbie," before that. We were seated too far away, really, AND she had been sick and was tired to start with. So the show started, and after about 10 minutes, she quietly whispered, "Granny, this is a little boring ....... nobody's even talking!" :-d So I whispered back, "Sweetie, give it a little time. It's going to get much better." She quietly settled down, then about 10 minutes later, she leans over again and whispers, "Granny?" I said, "Yes?" She said, "I'm afraid it hasn't gotten any better!" :-d I LOVE six-year olds.......... Such a great age! |
Rave: Glad it's not too late to post on FFR&R, because now that we are on the topic of sweet granddaughters..mine just called me from their first trip to Disneyworld. We gave them the trip as part of their Christmas, and they called to tell me that tonight they are haveing dinner with Cinderella!!!!! Too sweet!

All of you are soooo lucky to have a grandaughter. I have all grandsons. Love them all to bunches, but sure wish I had a grandaughter!

Oh, I love these darling granddaughter stories! My boys (well grown men) aren't cake eaters - we usually have pie, which they enjoy over cake. I don't know where in the heck these kids came from since I LOVE cake :D
|
they put the pie on top of the cake? very interesting. must be a southern thing.

seetheworld, have a great time in Florida! I love that state! Happy travels.
|
Thanks, sweetie! Wow, you did your errands in record time. See what happens when you leave :)
|
No seetheworld, still have to go - I was making a list and made a mistake and peeked at Fodor.
I am sure glad I didn't disagree with you about you know what. Unfortunatly you were correct. Just think, while in FL you won't have to look at all this nonsense. And seriously do have a wonderful and fun time. |
Thanks, LoveItaly. I wish you a good week too!

Bonniebroad, I love your Nutcracker story. We've taken our granddaughter to see the Nutcracker ballet every year since she was two, believe it or not. She's a ballet freak. The first time we took her, we were prepared to leave before it was over, thinking it might be a bit much for a kid who was two months short of her 3rd birthday. I don't think she blinked once through the entire performance, and when it was over she burst into tears. I said "What's the matter, Charlotte?" and she sobbed "I didn't want it to end!"

Such cote Nutcracker stories! I took our 4 yr old daughter to the Nutcracker when they performed at SPAC in Saratoga, NY. We went to our seats, but found one was not there due to the soundboard. An usher took us to different seats. We were smack in the middle and 10 rows up from the orchestra. Wow!!! The entire time I kept thinking though that this incredible seat is being used by a 4 yr old who won't remember too much, lol! We thoroughly enjoyed it though and luckily she had a great time.
