CAPH52 and Highbay, I'm glad there wasn't a misunderstanding between you because there seems to be a lot of touchiness on this site.

I'm puzzled as to why you insist on digging out what went on. As you are a very active member of the other board where you have been in the forefront of threads where you discussed and dissected who's who and the events on what went on and how you plan doing some disruption here, as well as publish your email address here to potentially recruit

Hi, Diddith. Where did you get the idea that I plan disruption here. What I said on the other site was simply that I would include my email address in posts so that new people who feel they have been treated rudely here could email me. Unlike you, I have no intention of being disruptive. Why can't people use both sites?

Are you the iambanned2 who just emailed me? If not I will repeat what I told that person, except I will not provide a link to the other site, since it is not allowed here.

"I came to Fodor's right after the "banning" and couldn't figure out what was going on because of course the posts that originally caused banning were gone. Whenever I asked about it, my post would get deleted with no explanation. Since I was never rude to anyone, I found this treatment incredibly unfriendly to a newcomer, so I figured out how to get to the new site.

Since then I have been looking at both sites. Right now it appears that Fodor's is ruthlessly cutting off anyone who disagrees with them. I do understand the policy about posts that are not travel related, but numerous posts remain that are not at all travel related. So it seems they are banning and deleting quite arbitrarily.

The people at the new site seem a lot friendlier and welcoming to me, as well as quite knowledgable about specific areas of travel. There seem to be a lot of people still at Fodor's who have absolutely no sense of humor. Some seem to be there only to tattle to the editors and demand that other's posts be removed: very tiresome.

Of course there is less information on the new site now, because Fodor's has been building this site for years. But it does appear that the people who moved have been major contributors to building the Fodor's site, so I predict the best information will be there before long. Once I figured out how to navigate, I found it much better organized than the Fodor's site.

I don't know if you are old enough to remember when the Coca Cola Company replaced one of the world's most popular products with undrinkable swill (so-called "New Coke.") Still taught in business schools as one of the all time worst business decisions. Looks to me that Fodor's/Random House/Bertelsmann is well on the way in that direction."

Please don't mind diddith, bless his heart. Its his latest screen name and he has posted under several screen names, one of which was deleted on about Nov. 10th. Its his same old rude postings toward other posters. LOL :-))

Its Monday but I wanted to thank all that posted congratulations to me. I appreciate it very much! Would have posted sooner but spent the weekend celebrating. Okay not celebrating ...really was on my hands and knees cleaning for Thanksgiving. But celebrating sounded better! LOL
