Rant: I am behind in my marathon training. This next one's gotta hurt!

Rave: The marathon is in 2 weeks. In Paris.

travelinwifey Mar 19th, 2004 10:20 PM

Good for you Melissa! My friend did that marathon last year. Good luck.

Ani Mar 20th, 2004 06:38 AM

RAVE: 4 weeks till due date. (and only 4 more weeks that you all have to see me post this!)

RANT: Took my mom to the hospital 2 days ago-turns out she had undiagnosed (obviously) Type 1 diabetes and was in ketoacidosis.. She also had an infection that needed surgery. She's still in the hospital.

RANT: Her insurance doesn't kick in until next month.

Two raves and two rants:

Rave 1: The weather here in No CA is still absolutely sparkly and warm.

Rave 2: Went to the outstanding SF Flower and Garden Show with friend Ann yesterday.

Rant 1: Dropped the cell phone on the hard sidewalk as I got out of the car.

Rant 2: Hit the headlight control as I got out of the car and when we returned several hours later, the battery was D-E-A-D. Thanks for AAA.

DH is afraid to let me out any time soon.

Rave: JAX to Tokyo (NRT) for $622 or less

emd Mar 21st, 2004 06:53 AM

mrwunrfl, what airline is that?

mrwunrfl Mar 21st, 2004 09:53 AM

Hi emd. That was a hint for Scarlett. The fares are on AA, DL, UA, CO. Generally, for travel Mon-Thu outbound through May. Take a look at travelocity. Also, I topped a post about the low Japan fares on the Asia forum.

Ok, it's Sunday, but here I go:

Rant: the popups on Fodors' site.
Rave: Fodor's is free and full of great stuff.

Rant: my brackets are horrible. I don't know where the University of Pacific is, but WHY did you have to beat Providence? And why did Gonzaga fail to play yesterday?
Rave: I have UConn winning it all and they're in the Sweet 16.

Rave: It's sunny and the flowers are blooming

Patrick Mar 21st, 2004 11:48 AM

OK, I'm going to say it again. Why in the world would anyone complain about popups? If they bother you, why don't you eliminate them? It's easy and it's free.
There are a number of different free popup stoppers. I happen to use www.panicware.com
Please don't complain about something you can stop! To me that's as irritating as someone sitting smoking a cigarette and saying, "I hate the smell of cigarette smoke!"

ncgrrl Mar 21st, 2004 12:13 PM

Patrick, not all of us use a home computer. Some people post at the public library or, egads, from work or some other place where downloading programs isn't possible.

jor Mar 21st, 2004 12:43 PM

Oh Patrick. Don't start this Again.

Patrick Mar 21st, 2004 12:55 PM

OK, my apologies. Those are issues I didn't think of. But I didn't know I was "starting something again". Guess I missed those replies in the past. And any time I've used a public computer like in an internet cafe or the public library, it already had popup stoppers installed.
