We'll have to see where the vote comes out. I had formica in my kitchen in the mid to late 70s the exact same color of the darker rust, and I had a Samsonite floor w/both the orange and rust colors, so maybe it just reminds me to much of that. You don't see much rust these days, maybe fodors will bring back the trend.

Wow, that POPS! No ho hum here. I'll bet everyone's eyes widened when the page opened.

iceeu2 Feb 12th, 2005 05:28 AM

cd Feb 12th, 2005 05:36 AM

It's bright. I like it.

wsoxrebel Feb 12th, 2005 05:42 AM

emd, Fodors is following the same trend as Sears - check out Sears new Sedona colored appliances

ParrotMom Feb 12th, 2005 05:44 AM

Like the new changes, but PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE.. ADD A Hawaii and Disney section.

Margie Feb 12th, 2005 05:45 AM

MOST (not all) design concepts from the 70's are best left there. They weren't that great the first time around and don't improve when regurgitated.

Anonymous Feb 12th, 2005 05:45 AM

I kinda regret complaining about that green stripe they added just a month or so ago.

LilMsFoodie Feb 12th, 2005 05:48 AM

flavors of the moment. just following the trend. I always think Brady Bunch when I see that rust color. LMF

Scarlett Feb 12th, 2005 05:49 AM

I think that is one of the reasons I liked this right away. The shades of blue and green were depressing and a little gagging to me. I like the bold and warm colors better. I thought of it more as desert colors than that rust ( my first Volvo station wagon in the 70s was rust colored :O )
Have you looked at the Home page yet?

Tandoori_Girl Feb 12th, 2005 06:00 AM

My scroll bar for the posts just disappeared. Sigh. I don't really care about the colors so much as I care about whether I can use the site. Although I would like to add that I'm very happy that Scarlett is gardening. And even has a client! It seems everything is coming up roses!

Tandoori_Girl Feb 12th, 2005 06:01 AM

Now the scroll bar is back. Doh!!!

Scarlett Feb 12th, 2005 06:01 AM

Awww TG, Thank you! ((F))

My red threads are now grey instead of red. I found the "red read" easier to see at a glance. :(

Statia Feb 12th, 2005 06:21 AM

That should have been "my READ threads are now grey instead of red." :(

makai1 Feb 12th, 2005 06:27 AM

ohhh,

let's just call it tangerine and sunflower... more pleasant sounding than rust. I also thought of my 74' bedroom and ski jacket. ;;)

I'd like it much better w/ red-orange accents, or bright blue... the black is too harsh... it was an eye opener this AM though. =-O

cmcfong Feb 12th, 2005 06:31 AM

Ditto, ParrotMom. Separate forums for Hawaii and Disney, please!
I love the sunflower colors.....
