Fodors - beef up your server

The response time on this site has been very bad the past few weeks, and navigating from one forum to another just doesn't work. I suspect some people are getting frustrated and giving up. I would hate to see these forums whither away, this is one of the most interesting websites out there.

I've spent a lot of time (far too much, actually) here in the last week, and I'm unsure what you're talking about. I have DSL service, maybe that makes a difference, but I switch back and forth instantly between the Europe and US forums, post, search, and get responses almost instantly.

I also spend way too much time here and I do have a DSL line at work. :) I've found the last few weeks that posting a message and searching takes a few tries ... I get error messages at least once and often multiple times before the post or search goes through. No problems switching forums or viewing posts though.

Working fine for me, too. I have DSL.

I'm getting server errors today when I click on certain posts. Never had that happen before.

JeanG Oct 22nd, 2003 07:41 AM

I have DSL. I get the following error:

Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.

JRun Connector Protocol Error.

I, too, have been experiencing intermittent problems with the Fodors boards over the past few weeks. Lots this week. This sort of thing never happens on eBay. I guess you get what you pay for.

My problems have been when posting replies. Sometimes the connection times out and I have to keep trying before it goes through. I NEVER had these problems before the last week or so.

Count me in - I had problems last week too, and I have a cable modem.

This is sad. It's amazing how impatient we have become as a society.

Don't worry folks, your questions and comments will be answered, eventually.

Have had problems the past week, but more so at work (T-1 line) than at home (Cable Modem) Mostly slow to refresh or after trying to reply.

DeborahB Oct 22nd, 2003 01:07 PM

I tried to a top a msg Monday on the Caribbean forum and after 15 minutes gave up and closed up. Came back later that day and my post was topped twice. Its been very slow at times the past couple of days. Were on DSL here at work.
