First time trip to L.A
Hi,
About to book a first time trip to Los Angeles Cali., for 5 days 4 nights, For 4 girls Looking for some info on where to stay (we would like to be somewhere central i.e. madison ave, sunset blvd. etc..) what to do? where to eat... all that stuff.. Any info would be GREAT!! Thank you, |
Sunset Plaza Hotel is a favorite of ours, but will you have a car? The Getty Center is a must-visit place ...just put "Los Angeles" into the Search This Forum box above and lots of previous info will pop up to the left!

LA is a huge place. Where you would stay depends on what you want to do. Most people prefer the western part of town--from West Hollywood, Beverly HIlls to farther west.
You might look at a map and try to decide where you want to go. |
well we know we want to stay in the sunset blvd, area. ive heard there is lots to do there.
we plan on going to the beach one day, need to be near nightlife, would like to see, the walk of fame, rodeo, and 5th ave, etc... |
Liana,
Just a FYI, Madison Ave and 5th Avenue are not in Los Angeles, but in New York (yes, I know we have a 5th, but it's not the one she's looking for). |
Holiday Inn on Highland (Hollywood) is anice hotel w/ a great location. Not sure of your ages or what you like but here are some suggestions:
Griffith Park / Observatory Santa Monica Pier area Venice Beach Rodeo Drive Walk Hollywood Blvd(Highland area) Getty Museum |
Hi Liana123,
Sunset Blvd. will definitely put you right in the middle of our nightlife, but beware, as cheap hotels up there are really skanky. Maybe joesorce's idea? Or one of the big hotels (e.g. the Standard or the Mondrian) in the center of the action. Rodeo is dead boring... drive through it and then do your shopping on Melrose Avenue between La Brea & Fairfax (very funky, with fun cafes) or Abbot Kinney in Venice (also funky with great cafes). |
