Ferry to Napa???
Someone posted about a ferry to Napa (to get to a location to be picked up for the limo tour). Does anyone know about this? (price, pick-up location, traveling time, etc.)
|
Napa is a valley and isn't on the water, so there won't be a ferry directly to Napa.
|
I believe that the ferry was to Naples and that would be Florida.<BR><BR>That's the only place that i'm aware of that has a ferry running from Naples to Key West.

SF tour companies ferry you to Vallejo and then the tours continue by land. It may be to Muir Woods or Wine country (Napa or Sonoma Valley). Do a search on SF tours - not on Fodor's, but on Google or whatever search you're using. It may be Gray Line or any other bus company.

While there is no direct ferry service to Napa, you can buy a combination ferry/bus ticket to Napa. The ferry will take you from San Francisco to Vallejo, and from there you can take a bus to Napa. This may be what you are referring to. The following link has more information.<BR><BR><BR>http://www.baylinkferry.com/fares.htm

Vallejo is very close to Napa. Maybe 30 minutes drive at the most to the town of Napa. <BR><BR>Conversely, if you are staying in Napa valley and want to spend the day in SF, you can park for free at the ferry terminal in Vallejo and take the ferry into the city for the day. I'd think it would be more enjoyable than dealing with the traffic in the city, plus you get the fabulous views from the water.

Susan, Jennifer was asking about a ferry to Napa, NOT to San Francisco. If Jennifer was already staying in Napa, why on earth would she be asking about a ferry which goes TO Napa? Please read the qustion more carefully next time.

I did read the question and added more info to previous posters, namely the distance between Vallejo and Napa, which was info not offered yet. You might want to look up the word "conversely". If anyone was doing a search for "ferry" and "Napa" in the future they might find my post helpful. What exactly did you add to this post?

I thought she was talking about a fairy from S.F. Not Napa. I think you can find a fairy in S.F.
|
The first part of your response about the driving distance from Vallejo to Napa was relevent.<BR><BR>The second part of your answer was of no help to Jennifer as she was not asking about how to get from Napa to SF. It was just another plug by you for SF.

"Please answer the question", thanks for your critique of my post. I'll try in the future to keep my answers in line with your stringent guidelines. I can't imagine how difficult your job must be to keep these Fodorites on topic. You have my apologies.

Susan, Thank you. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Last I heard the Napa River still goes through Napa. Use any search engine<BR>to come up with Napa River events. Here is the one that popped up first:<BR>http://www.conferencetours.com/CruiseWest-CaliforniaWineCountry2001.htm<BR>Maybe the post Jennifer recalls has them taking the Sausalito Ferry over and then a limo up to the Napa area?

Ladies:<BR><BR>There are some wonderful products these days sold over the counter for PMS.

Wow! Thank you for the info. I am looking to get to Napa to do the limo tour, but it is too expensive to take the limo from SF I think, so I wanted to figure out a better way to get to a near-Napa location where the limos would pick up. I think the ferry to Vallejo may have been what I saw. Thanks!
