Are you kidding? Kauai is one of the safest islands. The residents there are so nice and down-to-earth! It's very rural compared to Oahu and Maui.

Woody,
I agree with Melissa. But, what have you heard that would concern you?

The only "bad treatment" we have received there over our past 10 stays was a business not being open when it says it will be!

But hey, it's Hawaiian time, bragh!

Most of the businesses that treat people poorly (their own staff and customers)aren't around for long. News travels fast on small island..
Kal

What a silly question. It's like asking if Switzerland is safer than Somalia.

Geez, you guys, go easy on poor woody.
If he's never been to Hawaii, how would he know?
That's why he asked, and that's what this forum is for.

Kauai is very safe, full of friendly, helpful people everywhere you go. It's a quiet, semi-rural island that may just be the most exotic place you'll see anywhere in the US.
