Darn. Posted too soon. Another thought that came to me is Angus MacIndoe's which is right next to the Producer's. It's very New York and has three levels, and quite possibly they'd set you up with most of either the second or third floor dining room -- particularly if you are eating between 8 and 10 as the bulk of their business is pre or post theatre. Wide range of foods from decent steaks, to great roast duck, to burgers, pastas, and big salads, as well as other entrees -- pretty much all under $25 a person. You can be noisy there and the wait staff is likely to join in the fun.

I missed that 10:44 comment.
Setting a $25 tag for entrees, there are a host of places they could choose that have better food and are not quite as hectic as Carmine's. Angus MacIndoe's is a good recommendation. Hey, Chez Josephine (my perennial favorite) is another choice. They have a small dining room on the second floor that would be ideal for the group. And, Jean-Claude would certain add to a festive, fun evening. And, the previously mentioned Virgil's would also be a good choice. I agree with the others....Forget Sardi's! |
