No for a very simple reason.

The USA board gets the highest viewership. Hence more knowledge regarding your question about Hawaii, or wherever.

I agree it should stay together. Once you separate one, where do we stop?

Is it really that hard to scroll on by?

I'm all for having a separate board for Hawaii. ((Y)) Whatever the exact percentage, it is high.

FYI, the Europe board gets the most posts.

This morning I got all europe threads on the US board...had to refresh 4x and then it finally cleared up. This phenomenon seems to have started over the past few weeks and is a quirk on the site.

I don't mind the Hawaii posts being on the US Board, I doubt I'd go to a separate Hawaii board, but I've been to Hawaii, and thus when I see a thread I can help on, I read the thread and answer if I have something to contribute.

Creating a forum with as many boards as there are topics will stifle the sharing of info, and also as someone else mentioned, I've learned about other destinations from various threads and have expanded my travel horizons even further!

If you're not interested in a thread, surf past!

My first reaction was to say "yes" since I'm going to Hawaii next week and have been busy searching out these posts, and there are lots of 'em!

But for active readership and getting the most responses it's better that all the U.S. stay together (just go read "Other Topics" if you want to see what little visited branch looks like).

Popular destinations do change with the seasons, but also just with... well I'll use "fads" for lack of a better word. Look at the Latin America board and it might as well be called Costa Rica at the moment, but a year ago Puerto Vallarta was taking up major posts.

So back to the original question, no I don't agree. Separating dilutes the punch.

YES! Enough of "which island..."

There should absolutely be a Hawaii board. During some months nearly a third of the questions are about Hawaii. How many "road to Hana" questions do we have to scroll through?

But first I think fodors needs to do something about the ever increasing glitches. When you click on the US board it shouldn't come up with the cruise section questions and still say United States as the board section. It happened to me a few days ago.

I just did another check. Four of the current 50 first questions are about Hawaii. There are much higher percentages of posts about a myriad of other places. Since I am not interested in Hawaii, I have to admit that sometimes it seems a lot of posts are about it, but I still question the idea that half of the current ones are, or even a third or a fourth. And it certainly isn't consistently true!
