Lots of exciting changes happening over there, very different park from when I was a kid (and tickets were something like $40). If it is a must see destination for you, you have no choice but to pay. It's going to once in your life, better to do it now rather than later (when tickets are even higher).

But as others suggested, there are lots of other things to do around here and many destinations that can be just as life changing.

Have an Irish Coffee at Buena Vista. Ride the cable car.

Explore Golden Gate Park. There is a field of buffalo, and Stow Lake, where you can rent paddle boats.

Yerba Buena Center has a carousel and kid's museum. Fort Mason is interesting.

I also like to explore North Beach with its Beat and Italian history and yummy food. Chinatown for similar visually stimulating and fun to explore.

And, a baseball game! Or a tour of the stadium on non game days, which it will be although the exhibition games are starting soon.

I actually wanted to say that I think Disney should limit the number of people attending the park to a reasonable & comfortable number, like when you go to a theater, everyone has a seat.

I know this will never happen, but if I could convince the ghost of Walt Disney to do this, I would.

I think legally, due to fire laws, total daily admittance to Disneyland is limited. But you'd never know it especially during summer months.

For a long time Disneyland made itself available for private parties during weeknights in the off-season months, and I really wish they'd bring those events back too. All rides, restaurants etc were available with either no or virtually no lines at all.

Thanks for all of your recommendations. We will try to check all your recommendations. We are actually having a hard time checking all of that due to limited time issue. At this time, we've been to Palace of fine arts museum, golden gate bridge and fisherman's wharf. Tiring, but we're having a lot of fun.
