Dick Clark is a Class Act

Enough said. Did you just see him on The Emmy's?

mah1980 Aug 27th, 2006 05:09 PM

Just saw him. Incredibly sad but happy at the same time.

bonniebroad Aug 27th, 2006 05:20 PM

What a courageous individual! I have great respect for him; ever since I watched his "American Bandstand" in the 50's and 60's,and since then, he's accomplished so much more!!! Bless you, Dick!

schmerl Aug 27th, 2006 05:26 PM

I sat here with tears in my eyes watching him. What a great attitude he has.
I grew up watching Bandstand. He was great then and has grown even greater.
You are right. He is a class act!

P_M Aug 27th, 2006 05:29 PM

Darn, I missed him!! Maybe they'll show a clip later. :-(

But even without seeing it I agree, he is indeed a class act.

Why do lonely, pathetic people disrespect this forum?

iceeu2 Aug 27th, 2006 05:34 PM

Why Gekko? Why? Why did you even click and open this? Maybe because it is you who is pathetic and lonely.

GoTravel Aug 27th, 2006 05:37 PM

I cried.

Dick Clark is such an institution.

BayouGal Aug 27th, 2006 05:38 PM

Please don't be lured in by Gekko's posts, friends. Enough said.

sistahlou Aug 27th, 2006 05:38 PM

What? Hello? Can you hear me now Gekko? Hello? Are you there? Talk to cypberspace, cause my screen isn't listening. Sad, sad, sad very sad indeed.

Who's Dick Clark! LOL He looked fabulous! Not that I'm old enough to know! hahahahah

annesherrod Aug 27th, 2006 05:56 PM

I think perhaps Gekko is lonely and pathetic....just my humble opinion.

I have been watching the Emmy's in between getting ready for a trip to the Ozarks for business - missed Dick Clark.

iceeu2 Aug 27th, 2006 06:03 PM

As if I haven't cried enough this weekend, then they go and do the tribute to Aaron Spelling. Touching, very touching.

bluestar Aug 27th, 2006 06:09 PM

If Gekko had posed his question this way: <i>Why do <s>lonely, pathetic</s> people disrespect this forum?</i> what would be your replies? I have no idea who is or is not lonely or pathetic here but I do wonder why every time this type of legitimate question gets tossed out the only rebuttal is some form of avoidance, rationalization or denial. So why is it certain persons are exempt from the rules?

ps - Besides this not being a valid topic for this board, generally I find it very bad netiquette to discuss an event which has not yet aired in other time zones, (airs about 45 minutes from now where I live) unless a &quot;SPOILER&quot; is inserted into the header.

LoveItaly Aug 27th, 2006 06:13 PM

And I missed this as I took a long walk with a friend and than we met with some other friends to have wine on my deck. I MUST learn to take a look at the TVGuide website. American Bandstand, how so many of us remember that!! A true classic.

Neopolitan Aug 27th, 2006 06:15 PM

LoveItaly, here in LA the Emmy Awards are just now starting on NBC. It is time delayed.

amaclise Aug 27th, 2006 06:19 PM

Perhaps a repost on the Cruise Forum in honor of Love Boat. That should quiet the critics (yea, right.)

Here's a travel related question: when does HBO's Elizabeth (getting an award right now) come out on DVD? I thought it was this week.

sistahlou Aug 27th, 2006 06:19 PM

Hey Ptrick! I know something you don't know! And the winner is....

annesherrod Aug 27th, 2006 06:19 PM

bluestar- it may be valid, but when a poster is rude and insulting to intelligent and thoughtful posters it really gets my dander up.

I never understand why they bother to open such threads if it SO irritating to them.

Ugghh. Anyway - Have a great week everyone.

earl30 Aug 27th, 2006 06:25 PM

the important question is what kind of &quot;lonely and pathetic&quot; person would go to a website and click on a topic he isn't interested in only to go to the trouble of looking up, copying, and pasting rules of conduct and then insulting others?

talk about lonely and pathetic!

BayouGal Aug 27th, 2006 06:27 PM

Bluestar, I love your screen name. Is there any special significance to it? I thought of the ointment, but I have had skin allergies so I guess that's why it popped in my head. I am always impressed when someone has an unusual and original screen name. Good job!
