Delta 100% mileage bonus
I just got this email
"Make your first Buy Miles purchase between August 1 and August 30, 2008, and we will give you a 100% mileage bonus with your transaction. That means that if you buy 10,000 miles, you'll get an extra 10,000 miles for a total of 20,000 miles!" Deb |
Uh-oh...When ever I hear about good deals like this I assume it probably means they are going to start charging you twice the amount of miles for a free ticket. But I am such a cynic these days!!

Hi Deb - Check the cost to purchase the tickets though. If you would buy 10,000 (equal to 20,000 with the promotion) it would cost $275 plus 7% excise tax. The price is .0275 per mile so it does add up. Probably a good deal for some, and not so good for others.

Looks like in September they will be charging 20,000 miles one way for domestic travel. That means 40,000 miles vs 25,000 on Northwest.
|
<i>"That means 40,000 miles vs 25,000 on Northwest."</i>
....and Delta is on the verge of buying NW, so use those NW miles while they still have value. |
I am hoping that we will be able to use our NW miles on Delta after the merge.
|
maggi - You will (most likely) be able to use NW miles on DL. But it will probably be at DL's redemption levels.
