X_Bellman, I agree with ChristieP. The Main Street Arts Festival is the best! I love outdoor festivals and this one is always my favorite!
Parking is free on weekends at several garages. Here is your best bet, IMO. Take I-20 West into downtown Ft.Worth. Exit Commerce Street. Right on Commerce. You will almost immediately pass the Tarrant County Convention Center. You will then notice the streets start to be numbered (i.e. 8th St, 7th St, etc). (Please be aware that Ft. Worth has many one-way streets.) Turn right onto 3rd Street. Then take the first right, Calhoun St. Get into the far left lane immediately, as the entrance to the parking garage is on your left just a few dozen feet after you turn onto Calhoun (Calhoun is one way). Several level parking garage (Sundance Square Parking Garage II) and about as close as you can get to the Main St. action, as many other streets are closed off for the festival. Here is link for festival: http://www.mainstreetartsfest.org/fe...d-parking.aspx
Additionally, make sure you exit the garage on foot to the south (4th street) to see the incredible Bass Performance Hall. (you can't miss the gargantuan angels with trumpets). The do give tours on most Saturday mornings at 10:30 (see website). So, if you are early birds and love architecture, don't miss this opportunity. Just beautiful and it is just a block from where the arts festival is! http://www.basshall.com/thehall.jsp
Have fun! See you there!!!!!!!!!
