Regarding lodging at Bryce, we stayed in one of the duplex cabins on the front row (#516) with nothing but the woods between us and the rim. It was wonderful. Try to request one of those cabins if you can.

I know the discussion has moved on, but I'm not sure your original question was really answered. So here it is for anyone else wondering

1-Lodge at Bryce Canyon: This is the only lodging option IN the park. While this is its official name it is also called Bryce Canyon lodge.
2- Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon Grand: This is the newest of the Ruby's Inn's hotels. They are all in a cluster just outside the park.
3- Bryce View Lodge: This is an older hotel also owned by Ruby's. There is also the original and main Ruby's Inn without any Bryce in its name.
4- Bryce Canyon Resort: This is at the intersection of Hwy 12 and hwy 63, where you turn to head to the park. It is independent and not associated with Ruby's.
5- Bryce Canyon Pines. This also is an independent property. Located a short drive west of the rest on Hwy 12. This has some of the best food in the area.

There are other properties, but I don't think they have Bryce Canyon in their names.
