Christmas Lunch in San Antonio
Need a recommendation for Christmas day. Will most likely stay at one of the Marriotts
or the Hyatt on the Riverwalk. I am guessing that there will be a buffet type offering at one of the big hotels. Will have a family of 5 and would like a special meal. Something to
appeal to all tastes but above average offerings. Is there a place you locals would recommend? It dosen't have to be buffet but I am thinking that most restaurants will be closed. Thank you.

NO WAY will restaurants on the Riverwalk on Christmas day be closed.
They live off the tourists!!! You will be lucky if you can get a reservation.

O.K. If most restaurants will be open and we have a car, please make a suggestion for lunch. Something special <$50 per person. Will have 3 teens to feed. For this meal prefer something
traditional, not Tex-Mex or Asian/Fusion. Thanks.

I live in San Antonio & last year we had Christimas lunch at the Hyatt Hill Country. I think it was about $35 per person, and it was great. Several different food stations and a hugh selection of deserts. Plus live music.
You definately need to make advance reservations.

You have some good choices right in the downtown area. The St. Anthony hotel has a terrific holiday brunch buffet with a broad enough array of food that all should be satisfied. La Mansion del Rio (my favorite) has a champagne buffet brunch in their Las Canarias restaurant that is excellent. The Hyatt usually has a brunch, too, and it is generally OK, but the other two are a cut (or two) above.
Feliz navidad, y'all!

Gracias, ya'll. I will start checking on reservations.
