Chicago boat tours

Hi! I will spend 4 days in Chicago in August and would like to go to a boat tour departing from Navy Pier. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Ann

Here's a link with lots of info on different boat tours in Chicago. Some of them start on the Chicago River and take you out to the lake rather than starting at Navy Pier. There are also wonderful architectural tours by boat that are given by the Chicago Historical Society.

http://www.chicagotraveler.com/attractions.htm#sightseeing

Have a great trip!

Try the Architectural Institute river tours --- wonderful. Depart from the Chicago river by the Chicago Trib Building.

Thanks to all for the suggestions!
I apologize for this foolish question, but which is the difference between a architectural tour and the others boat tours?

The architectural tours are narrated rides on the Chicago River through downtown that cover the many awesome buildings along the river. Most of the other tours are on Lake Michigan and don't go cover architecture in such great detail. Both are nice; the river tour is a must for architecture buffs.

boat tours take you out on the lake to see skyline, etc. Architectural tour takes you down the river and talks about the architectural styles of various buildings. Scenery versus educational.

We took the Historical Society's architectural tour two years ago---fascinating look at Chicago architecture which is very famous--along the Chicago River. THere are also tours that go out into the lake so you can look at the building on the lakefront. Don't know who goes from Navy Pier.
