http://www.skyhighairlines.com/

there are some great deals here!

Patrick Mar 12th, 2004 04:41 PM

Mary, I am on the floor laughing. This is even funnier than the Italian driver link posted today on the European board.

Check this one out folks!!!

Marilyn Mar 12th, 2004 05:01 PM

Oh my, I started laughing out loud at the "Excellence through compromise" motto and can't wait to wend my way through the rest of the site. Somebody has toooo much time on their hands (thank God). :-D

Patrick Mar 12th, 2004 05:20 PM

I've returned to browse through this extensive site. I love the message from the president. But I did notice a couple links to Alaska Airlines which are the only things real in the entire site. Is this somehow related to Alaska Air???

Marilyn Mar 12th, 2004 05:23 PM

You know, Patrick, I think the whole site is a subtle ad for Alaska Airlines, but it's so damn funny I don't even care.

Challenge seating -- just brilliant!
Bench or cargo class?

fdecarlo Mar 12th, 2004 06:08 PM

Too funny! That letter from the president is classic..

"So when you complain about sharing a honey roasted legume, it sounds a lot like someone knocking the United States of America."

Sounds like a slogan for Bush's reelection campaign.

Gardyloo Mar 12th, 2004 07:47 PM

It is indeed produced by Alaska Airlines - the TV versions are equally hilarious - all the ticket agents play the banjo while hassling the pax.

Wong Doody, the Seattle ad agency used by Alaska Airlines, also does ad work for the LA Dodgers, Mervyn's, and MGM/Sony Home Entertainment. They are very talented people IMO.

Mary1 Mar 12th, 2004 11:39 PM

Have you tried to book seats yet?

Melnq8 Mar 13th, 2004 01:32 AM

Loved the Gate Change Workout and Virtual First Class.

Thanks Mary1 - I needed a good laugh today!

jersey Mar 13th, 2004 04:39 AM

LOL

I needed a laugh this morning!

Meesthare Mar 13th, 2004 04:56 AM

Fantastic. Thanks for the chuckles!

marmaduke Mar 13th, 2004 06:22 AM

Just think. There are some out there who'll think this is for real.

This is too funny. Great post. I'm going to put it on my favorites list just to pick up my spirits in times of trouble.

audra Mar 13th, 2004 06:30 AM

ROFLMAO! Hope the advertising exec who created this gets a huge raise!

Mary1 Mar 13th, 2004 06:30 AM

Marmaduke
This is what I got when I posted this on another travel forum

"Its a joke flight site!

If you book a flight and read the tips at the bottom, you will see!"

Unbelievable!

Dick Mar 13th, 2004 06:46 AM

I too loved the Gate Change Workout.

Thh whole site is very clever and very professionally done.

Reminds me of some of the old Stan Freeburg commercials....any one remember him?

Cassandra Mar 13th, 2004 08:22 AM

Sure do remember Stan Freeburg -- you can sometimes find old tapes of his in large-inventory or second-hand stores.

Be sure to "track your bag" -- very funny.

elle Mar 13th, 2004 08:25 AM

Ha!

The Chairman's Tip of the Day is very wise.

travellyn Mar 13th, 2004 08:36 AM

I just tried to trace John Smith's baggage, and apparently it is vacationing in Bhutan.

Marilyn Mar 13th, 2004 08:56 AM

Be sure to make a reservation. The list of departing and arriving airports is a scream, but wait til you see your itinerary. It's only the grain of truth in it all that makes it so damn funny.

Patrick Mar 13th, 2004 09:09 AM

The only thing lacking is that my nearest departing airport seems to be Rattlesnake, Florida, but the site doesn't offer any airport information. My proposed 37.5 hour flight with only four connections to Iowa sounds like a hoot, even if it will cost me a little over $4000.

cd Mar 13th, 2004 09:09 AM

Very clever of Alaska Airlines! Best Advertising ever.

4khansen Mar 13th, 2004 09:15 AM

I live near Red Oak Iowa... this is the first time I have seen a nonstop to that location... cool!!!! lol

Mary1 Mar 13th, 2004 09:53 AM

and has anyone tried the Suggestions section? Just try typing in one and submit it!

Patrick Mar 13th, 2004 11:02 AM

Thanks, Mary. It accepted my suggestion -- just not quite the same way I worded it. LOL.

ccolor Mar 13th, 2004 11:10 AM

And how could they know their destinations were just where I was waiting for flights to finally be available for?......sigh....

fiona Mar 13th, 2004 02:08 PM

This is now on my "favourites". I have already emailed it to everyone I can think of!

andy Mar 13th, 2004 02:23 PM

This is WAY tooo funny!! Did anyone see that you need to re-comfirm your flights 128 DAYS prior to travel...

Great ad for Alaska Air!!

Marilyn Mar 13th, 2004 02:37 PM

There's another good laugh on the Europe forum -- check out the thread "Just for Laughs."

Mary1 Mar 14th, 2004 03:56 AM

Yes Marilyn- doesn't it sound so like our forum!!
