Glad you had a great trip - I've only been that one trip last fall, but I can't wait to return - as you said, too many restaurants to choose from and all so great, and I'd like to see some of the other sites you enjoyed too. Thanks for posting upon return!

This isn't in Charleston but not a long drive-30 minutes? Cypress Gardens. They have a butterfly garden & other animals. There are trails to walk on. I love the boat ride through the cypress trees. You can take the boat out yourself or have one of the kind workers do it. It doesn't cost very much either.
