melissa

I don't think it's for preteens or young teens.
You do realize that the show was really (and I do mean really) panned by the critics, don't you?

GoTravel May 15th, 2006 12:47 PM

I think over 16 at the minimum and Howard beat me to the punch.

He's being polite by saying the play was panned by the critics. More like savagely attacked.

MelissaBeckoff May 15th, 2006 12:51 PM

thanks

Caught it with free tickets a few weeks ago.

One word: OUCH!

SusieQQ May 15th, 2006 04:38 PM

I saw it in previews...did not like it, definitely not for children.

sequess May 15th, 2006 07:26 PM

It's really not good for any age. Everything the critics say about the show is true---it's really that bad!!

mclaurie May 16th, 2006 03:12 AM

It's awful. Save your money. It's not for children (or adults) period.

Margo_Chester May 16th, 2006 03:27 AM

The show will be put out of it's misery May 20th.

Melissa, do you need some recommendations for shows appropriate for children? How old are they?

MelissaBeckoff May 16th, 2006 02:30 PM

I was offered some free tickets.
What do you suggest for 11/13 year old?
we have tickets for wicked and tarzan in NY
and are going to see mary poppins, mouse trap and evita in london
thanks
melissa

Depending on how many days you're in town, I'm not sure I'd even accept free tickets for Lestat and I don't think it's for young teens. Jersey Boys is very popular and would be good if you can get tickets. Haven't seen it yet but the Wedding Singer sounds like fun.

GoTravel May 16th, 2006 03:03 PM

What did you do to these people Melissa? LOL!

I'd politely refuse.

MelissaBeckoff May 16th, 2006 03:46 PM

I am not visiting NYC
We live in NJ

Get tickets for Hairspray. Youngsters that age should enjoy it.....At least, those in our family did! Great fun for children and adults.

Neopolitan May 16th, 2006 07:48 PM

Are you going in the next few days before it closes or are the tickets for after that?
Take the tickets now and then get the cash when it closes.

bugswife1 May 20th, 2006 07:33 AM

How about 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee? Adorable. Or, The Drowsy Chaperone with Sutton Foster.

grantop May 20th, 2006 09:14 AM

Neo, Melissa would be given the tickets; taking them with the idea that the show will close and then she can go get the cash sounds little cheapo to me. Surely you weren't serious?

I agree with Howard's suggestion for Hairspray, it would be fun for all.

Neopolitan May 20th, 2006 01:18 PM

I gather that the idea that Lestat is closing shortly was false information. They appear to still be booking throughout the summer.

Yes, I was joking about pocketing the money. To begin with, if the show is cancelled the money would automatically be credited to whomever bought the tickets.

HowardR May 20th, 2006 02:07 PM

Lestat may not be closing this weekend, but I can't believe can hold out much longer, not with those brutal reviews!

grantop May 20th, 2006 02:44 PM

Glad to hear that Neo, I was hoping you had a little more class than that!
