Boston Weekend in May
Wife and I have 0pportunity to spend 3 day weekend in Boston in May. Looking for restaurant and other suggestions -sightseeing, museums, shopping, etc.
|
How about giving us a clue -- what do you enjoy doing (history? sports? art? hiking?) and what kind of food you like, and how fancy.
|
There's tons of threads on Boston. Do a search and then come back with more specific questions.
|
Also, have you been to Boston before. Where are you staying. Will you have a car.
|
where it says 'search this forum' on the top of the page - when you are under US Forum, type in "Trip Report Boston" and tons of trip reports come up with itineraries, etc
also then try Boston Lodging Boston Museums Boston Restaurants there are many threads that will come up and then you can get an idea as someone suggested and return with specific inquiries - also reading about Boston on Fodors right here - But still.... hotel location: I would choose Copley/Back Bay area - and some of my favorite Boston hotels are Copley Fairmont, Eliot, Four Seasons, Nine Zero- relatives have been pleased with rooms and rates at the Radisson too - restaurants: how much? There's The Federalist, The Oak Room and Mistral and then there's Legal Seafood and Sonsie and Metropolis, so we need price and tastes - seafood, italian, etc Museums: My don't miss is the Isabella Steward Gardner, then the MFA, then the new ICA Shopping: Newbury St, boutiques or chains/malls? or combo? age? - looking for standard, cool, funky? consignment? Sightseeing? freedom trail boston harbor cruise to one of the islands duck tour Skywalk Observatory North End for dinner and stroll Breakfast and stroll thru Boston Public Garden and Boston Common, up Charles St, over to Charles River |
Hope you have a place to stay already. May is one of the busiest hotel months as it's graduation time.

My Bestfriend told me of a classic restaurant in Boston called Locke-Ober..his Dad had a locker there back in the day and it looks delicious!

BF Dad had a locker at Keens in NYC, not Locke-Ober.. back in the day, they had there pipes stored in a private locker and the wait staff would bring your pipe filled with your favorite tobacco..
