Ah, the gym. There are people who illegally park in a fire lane to save 20 feet of walking before they get on the treadmill at the gym I belong to.

Then there are the people on the eliptical machine talking on their cell phones.

Maddening.
Lol, I have seen the "girls" at the gym, who walk on the treadmills while talking on the phone, then off to a long lunch to award themselves for all the hard work:)
I am afraid, I am one of those people who if walking on a treadmill, must not talk or watch tv, otherwise, I will fall off~

gracie and GoTravel, I also work out at lunch and/or after work, and I ALWAYS take off my makeup before working out! At least, everything except mascara (if it's water-resistant)!

Granted, you can see from my earlier post that I don't wear a lot of makeup to work, but even so, that foundation, eyeshadow, powder, whatever, comes OFF. It is so so bad for your skin to wear makeup and sweat!

Maybe you two are blessed with fantastic skin, but otherwise start bringing some cleaning cloths (and your makeup bag, if you work out at lunch). Makeup + sweat = clogged pores!

Maybe I'm not working out hard enough, or maybe I am just fortunate, but I don't sweat at all on my face when I work out, so I see no need to take my make-up off before I work out.

I'm glad you asked this question Tansy! as I am going on vacation for the first time in years to Florida of all places and I wanted to know about some waterproof make up since I will be in pools and beaches.. I have hirsutism its where you have more hair on your body than normal girls :( I've had it for a few years and its embarassing more my face than anything because I have to tweeze or shave sigh anyway im glad I ran across this post! I can now hide whats left after removing the hair without worrying that everyone is looking at me its a hard thing to deal with especially with so many women without this problem .. I guess everyone has their own reason of why they need cover up for the beach etc.. and this is one of them but again thanks guys for posting so many products I cant wait to get my list of things to buy for june :)

CiD - I have that too. Epilators are your friend. I have a small one designed esspecially for faces. It doesn't exactly feel pleasant, but it isn't too bad and it is MUCH better than shaving. It will keep you from getting razer burn, stuble, and everything else that comes along with shaving. I do my face every couple of weeks, tweezing a bit in between to get the bigger hairs that pop up out of nowhere.
For my arms, I just bleach the hair occasionally with a Sally Hansen product - I don't worry about removing the hair, but since my hair is dark and I am fair, bleaching it really helps minimize the look. My legs and bikini have always been my biggest challenge. Several years ago I had laser hair removal, which really cut down on the hair I have on my legs. Some still grows, but it is so much less. I use an epilator to take care of the remaining hair. Since hair grows in cycles rather than all at once, I generally use the epilator once a week in the summer and every 2-3 weeks in the winter. I never never never in a million years thought I could have smooth legs, but now I do. |
If you trim down the hair on your arms first, you can also use your epilator on your arms.
For you face, try waxing. It leaves your skin soft and smooth. |
For me, my arms are just something I have decided not to worry too much about - but lots of people wax or use the epilator on their arms and have great luck with it. For my face - I've tried waxing as well, but I find the epilator to be much more convinient. It is able to get shorter hairs than waxing and it is much less hassle. Waxing at home can be messy - waxing in a salon can be pricey. With the epilator, I can easily do quick touch ups.
It is all about finding what works for each individual though. |
