Best Milkshake in Vegas
We will be staying at the Bellagio in May; my wife and I both love Chocolate shakes. Any sugestions?
Chocolate milkshakes are my weakness, too. I found one at Ghiradelli's in Vegas.
Let me know if you head to NC, I can point you in the right direction for soemthing which isn't a chain. Enjoy your trip. |
Oh, terrific, I'm headed to Vegas on Saturday and wondering if I'll be able to stick to my diet. Now I'm wondering if there's a place that serves great coffee milkshakes (although frappes are better).
cmcfong, I'd like the NC tip!
OK, Starrsville, here you go. In Swansboro go to Yanna's. Not only do they have the best milkshakes (coffee and chocolate) they have fritters in apple, banana and strawberry. Wow. What a great place to blow a diet.
In Mt. Airy go to Goobers 52 (paying homage to Andy Griffith has created some appalling business names). The chocolate milkshakes have big chunks of good chocolate in addition to the ice cream. The strawberry shakes have fresh berries. Wow. And then there is the Tiny Diny (bad names are not limited to Mt. Airy) in King which has a good chocolate milkshake. Whenever I take I-77S to Columbia, SC, I always stop at the New Peach Stand for a milkshake. Just off the interstate at the Tega Cay exit. |
dfrost, I assume you are from New England. I will never forget my first trip to a Brighams. I ordered a milkshake and got...yuck, milk. Where was the ice cream? Oh, that's a frappe....lesson learned. By the way, up that way my all time favorite frappe is at the Newport Creamery. My favorite flavor there would have to be mocha...coffee and chocolate! Enjoy your trip to Vegas.

I've only had one milk shake in Vegas so I don't know how it compares ... but my vanilla shake at the Burger Bar in Mandalay Bay was excellent.

Found this link to a good place in Vegas via a conversation on another thread. You may want to check this frozen custard place out -

yes, cmcfong, I live in New England ... and on one Rhode Island visit we searched out The Place for Coffee Cabinets (milkshakes/frappes) which I think was in Tiverton. So far we have only discovered peanut butter milkshakes (my husband's preferance) in Kenai, AK and a little family restaurant near Lake Harmony, PA. A trip to NC sounds VERY worthwhile!
cmcfong - didn't they call them "cabinets" at Newport Creamery?
Gosh Gail, it has been a while since my last trip to Newport, but I think they called it the "Awful, Awful" My dad set some kind of consumption record there...........
Come on down, DFROST!
Oh yeah! Awful Awfuls at Newport Creamery. My sister went to culinary school in Providence, RI and I loved visiting because of those and coffee milk. Yumm!
We kind of got of on a tangent here I thank you for Ghiradelli's; any other suggestions?
Dodos,
I honestly don't know if this place has shakes but in the back of your hotel the Bellagio has an elaborate Chocolate fountain system. It starts at the ceiling and works its way down from one scoop to another. Usually people who like Chocalate shakes like Chocolate for obvious reasons. I don't know the name of the place but it is a choclatier. |
In the Bellagio, Palio has great Latte's and Hot Chocolate. Sorry, I will brainstorm a little about the chocolate shakes.
According to the "other F website" the best milkshakes can be found at Liberty Cafe at the White Cross Pharmacy or Roxy's Diner in the Stratosphere.
Sad there is no Bruster's there. Had a great chocolate shake there yesterday :-) |
Thank you, these look like some interesting ideas. Where is the White Cross Pharmacy?
