Wynn's stock fell after the opening. Investors weren't thrilled, too much of a build up. I do know the employess are under a lot of stress right now to get things going smoothly:) It will be fine in the future I'm sure. Wynn is a billionaire and Vegas' # 1 man for a reason though I think it will be never be as good as the Bellagio, his finest work jmo, and I could be wrong:)

Bellagio has definately slipped. We've stayed several times, both when owned by Steve Wynn and now by MGM.

If your point of reference is the days when Wynn owned it, I'd say the most noticeable difference is the type of client they look to attract. When Wynn ran it, I perceived the crowd to be a bit older perhaps more established. Whether by design or demand, room rates never seemed to be discounted. The staff seemed more helpful and less overwhelmed.

I've noticed that Bellagio now attracts a much younger crowd. Rooms are discounted and the Light nightclub is clearly targeting that crowd. With the extra rooms they've added, without a noticeable increase in either the front desk staff or conciegre, it seems to me that the staff is just a little edgier than they once were.

I still like the Bellagio, I just don't like it as much.

It may be hard for Wynn to live up to the hype and the expectations. But, I know what to expect at Bellagio and I'm willing to give Wynn a shot on my next trip to Vegas.

LHG
How is the new spa tower? How do the rooms compare to the deluxe lakeview rooms. I have read they do not have that great view. We are going next month and was wondering about the new tower.

Thanks in advance:)

We had a deluxe lakeview room. I think we paid $229 on the Bellagio website. The spa tower gave us great access to the pool. I think you have to walk through some public areas if you are staying in the other building. I agree with everything Ryan said. The crowd seems to be different here than it was on my last visit. It is much younger, and a lot of people walking around in shorts and flip flops. Most people, I thought, would be better suited for the Hard Rock Hotel. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the room and a weekend away with just my husband. We were on the 26th floor. There is a parking lot in front and then the fountains to the side. It was fine for us. I really only enjoy the fountains when I am outside--up close and personal.
Hope this helps!

I'm back from the Wynn. I really loved the room. We booked a resort room, but they gave us a tower suite. It is exactly like the picture on the website. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was great. The tower suites have access to two private pools. They are very beautiful, and hardly anyone was there. You certainly do not need to fight for a chair.
