Bellagio or Venetian?

We're going to Vegas for 3 nights. Should we book our rooms at the Bellagio or Venetian? Prices are the same for the dates we're going.

Thanks!

Let's see... dark chocolate or milk chocolate? Hyacinths or gardenias? Rome or Venice? :)

We should all have such choices. I'd say the Bellagio by a hair. :)

Enjoy!

I've never stayed at the Bellagio, but I have stayed at the Venetian. The rooms in the Venetian are all suites (I THINK).
I agree.. should I have creme brulee or bananas foster... :)
Given a choice, I would stay at the WINN hotel, however.

The Venetian!!!!

It seems like toss up between the two. Which hotel has the more luxurious feel to the room? I'm leaning towards the Venetian...hubby towards the Bellagio. We haven't stayed at either. The photos on Trip Advisor of the Bellagio rooms look more drab.

The Wynn is a bit more expensive so we're not even considering that.

I am with Bratsandbeer. I am a Venetian girl...I love it there. I like the Bellagio as well (really it is splitting hairs for the most part)..try to get a room in the new tower at the Venetian. Have fun!!!

we were posting at the sametime. Some say the rooms at Venetian are tired..so try to get an updated one. I have always been very pleased with every room at the Venetian. If you want a real treat -- go to Canyon Ranch spa and have your make up done...I feel like a goddess afterwards :-)

The Bellagio rooms were nothing special. I just remember everything being orange from those florescent light bulbs. But the Bellagio is in a better location, right in the middle of the strip.

I would stay at Paris and get a room facing the Bellagio fountains.

BEllagio rooms were nice, but certainly not fantastic. But I think it has a much better location. Also i actually got into the fountains much to my surprise!

venetian rooms are all suites. love them. (never have stayed or seen bellagio rooms though)

dmlove Sep 18th, 2008 08:16 AM

We stayed at the Venetian in April. We call it "faux elegant". Our room was very nice (not "tired" at all). It is a suite, in the sense that there is a sleeping area and a living room area (not two separate rooms, but very large, step down into the living room).

My only problem with the Venetian (and this is likely true at all the resorts) is that at the pool, the chaises are so close together you can't walk in between them.

The Bellagio may be in a better location but by far, I'd go with Venetian. I loved our room (which was a suite) and I loved the shops the dining the pool the staff, I just loved - loved everything about it.

I have never been bothered by the Venetian location vs. Bellagio. Have stayed at both and both seem fine to me regarding location.

dmlove - glad to hear that your room was not tired. I have never stayed in one that was either but have read on the boards that some felt that it is.

dmlove Sep 18th, 2008 08:36 AM

Oh, I should add, we LIKED the location of the Venetian (not better or worse, but just fine).

We stayed at The Venetian in August and had a beautiful recently remodeled room. The bed was very comfortable and the hallways were quiet, so we slept well. We only paid $139 a night. We've never stayed at the Bellagio, so I can't comment on it. Have a great time wherever you decide to stay.

lifelist Sep 18th, 2008 07:50 PM

Bellagio if you spring for a fountain view room. Otherwise, Venetian has better/larger rooms.

obiandchewy Sep 19th, 2008 01:56 PM

We stayed at the Bellagio in July, and even though we liked it, we didn't think it was all people said it was. The room was nice, but the bathroom was great. We are going again in October, and trying the Wynn this time. If I were you, I'd try the Venetian.

I would prefer the Bellagio. It is a quality hotel.

NeoPatrick Sep 19th, 2008 04:15 PM

I've stayed at the Bellagio and not at the Venetian. But I keep thinking of the comments from friends who have stayed at both -- something like this, "sure the Venetian is all suites, but it was a tiny living area and a tiny bedroom. We didn't need the privacy between the two rooms -- one huge room at the Bellagio seemed a lot less claustrophobic." Just for what it's worth.

dmlove Sep 19th, 2008 05:45 PM

Neo, that's just not the case. The room (both) at the Venetian are quite large.
